DNV GL Region UK & West Africa are seeking an experienced Business Development Leader with a proven track record in developing business in the UK infrastructure markets.

 

Your tasks:


As Business Development Leader – Infrastructure the primary focus of the role will be leading the business development drive towards our UK gas infrastructure customers in gas transmission and distribution, but will also be responsible for developing our markets in adjacent infrastructure areas such as water, rail, aviation and defence. 

You will report to the Head of Department of our Advisory business. You will work together with predominantly with colleagues in the advisory department by leading business development activities, aiming to convert leads into assignments for the Advisory unit. The work will be carried out in national and international project teams in collaboration with both DNV GL and clients’ experts and consultants.  As DNV GL are a recognised thought leader in infrastructure, it will be important that you can demonstrate technology leadership in relevant areas to drive future business growth.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Play an operational / tactical and strategic role in achieving the targets set out in the Annual Plan for Region UK and West Africa.
  • Utilise business networking opportunities effectively to convert business leads into opportunities.
  • Engage with global internal network to deliver high quality work in national and international teams.
  • Demonstrate thought leadership in the infrastructure domain through conference papers, technical articles, and engagement with professional bodies

Position Qualifications

We’re looking for a dynamic Business Development Leader with a strong technical background and compelling client facing skills who is goal-oriented and strategic and has a flexible attitude. You will work closely with our key account managers in the gas business to grow our existing market, whilst adding new features to our portfolio, linked to the outlook for energy transition in the UK.  You will also lead the development of business in adjacent infrastructure markets such as rail, aviation, water and defence.

 

 

Role qualifications: 

  • Relevant Engineering degree.
  • Significant Sales / Business Development experience within the Infrastructure market.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Team player with good communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills across cultures and enjoys business development.
  • Structured, goal oriented, service minded with a “can do” attitude.
  • Technically / Tactically / Commercially driven.
  • Aware of the emerging energy transition in the UK, where it impacts upon the gas market.
