  • Local Unit & Position Description

    The KEMA Laboratory for Metering, Protection & Substation Automation (MPSA) within PowerTIC is expanding. The MPSA laboratory carries out type testing and certification of smart energy meters, intelligent electronic protection relays and substation automation equipment used for the generation, transmission, distribution and use of electrical energy. The MPSA team works with a high-quality standard according ISO/IEC 17020 and ISO/IEC 17025.

    In order to maintain this high-quality for existing services and to prepare the quality system for new certification services in the field of digitalization and smart grids in electrical energy we are looking for a Technical Quality Officer.


    Key tasks:

    • Maintaining existing quality procedures and developing quality procedures for new services based on international standards
    • Justifying and calculating measurement uncertainties AC&DC/LF and EMC/HF (mathematics / statistics)
    • Interpretation of RvA (Dutch Council for Accreditation) rules into operational perspective
    • Staying up-to-date with developments in the Metering, Protection & Substation Automation world (European and National legalization, Technical Committees)


    Position Qualifications

    • Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant
    • Work experience in the field of quality systems in AC&DC/LF and EMC/HF is desirable
    • Interest, knowledge and experience in the field of:

    o Electrical testing & measuring technology / calibration
    o Writing testing & measuring / quality procedures
    o Calculating and justifying measurement uncertainty (mathematics / statistics)
    o Interpreting ISO 17025 accreditation and consulting with colleagues in a multidisciplinary environment 

    • Knowledge and/or interest in the field of AC&DC and EMC/HF
    • Ability to work in a team
    • Customer-orientation
    • Knowledge of the Dutch and English languages as mandatory
