  • Local Unit & Position Description

    The Country Operations Manager reports into the Regional Operations Manager and is responsible for driving and achieving successful business results through people.

     

    This role requires the Country Operations Manager to advice, challenge and support the Regional Operations Team. Therewith, the Country Operations Manager shall actively promote, support and facilitate the fulfilment of DNV GL's Purpose, Vision and Values, and shall foster a culture of cooperation across the country.

     

    The Country Operations Manager shall plan, co-ordinate, support, follow-up and improve the activities of the Country in accordance with the framework in the DNV GL strategy, budget, the DNV GL Management System (DMSG). Overall the role includes to plan, deliver, evaluate and improve the service delivery processes; more concretely the responsibility covers the target setting, capacity and competence management and development, audit planning, audit execution, reporting, accreditation management, invoicing, credit collection to our customers. The goal is to achieve customer satisfaction, accreditation and further compliance requirements as well as business performance targets in a consistent and systematic way.

     

    Major areas of responsibility are:

    • Successfully achieve the financial performance of the German Unit in accordance with the targets agreed and set
    • Responsible for ensuring and improving for operational efficiency and effective service delivery throughout the German Unit
    • Monitor and follow up forecast and business results at German Unit level
    • Enhance and simplify the operational interaction within the countries by closely cooperating with other Country Operations Managers, promoting best practice and encouraging the sharing of ideas
    • Monitor the level of the performances of the people reporting to the function to evaluate the achievement of pertinent Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
    • Work with Finance function for the forecast preparation and analysis related to German Unit production activities and services
    • Analyze and define the coverage of qualified resources needs (volume, schemes, qualification, geography) in relation to budget targets and ensure focus on continuous service quality improvement through management and development of people
    • Work with the Country Sales Manager on the areas where services could be developed to enhance DNV GL's position in the market place
    • Support sales activities (presentations, customer visits) for new and existing customers
    • Ensure professional customer support which leads to a high customer satisfaction and market reputation
    • Acts as the primary contact towards accreditations bodies and global accredited units
    • Monitoring and managing of impartiality issues. Ensuring the independent nature of the certification schemes is not compromised at any time
    • Handling of complaint management and follow up of relevant actions
    • Approval of expenses within the limits as given in chart of authorities
