  • Local Unit & Position Description

    In this role, you will be directly reporting to Head of Section- Project Engineering.

     

    Broad Expectations: 

    • Fully aligned with the characteristics of the scientific methods i.e. Empirical, Replicable, Systematic, Objective and Provisional
    • Traits for being updated, organised, taking risk, integrity and collaborating in groups.
    • As a senior electrical engineer, you are expected to play a key role in assessing the risks and proposing its mitigations for multi-million renewable projects in Asia Pacific regions.
    • As a part of global electrical team, you are expected to play a key role in revision and introduction of methodologies, standards, new services in tune with fast changing business and technological environment. 

    The individual role will include the following: 

    • Performing technical review of turbines, technical due diligence reviews of wind farms BoP Designs, conducting root cause analysis and corrective measures
    • Performing grid compliance studies for wind turbines against applicable grid code
    • Excellent understanding of global standards related to electrical aspects of a wind turbine (e.g. Relevant IEC stds.)
    • Excellent understanding of wind turbine electrical testing (LVRT, power performance, power quality etc.)
    • Managing projects related to Owner’s engineering and Lender’s engineering in Asia Pacific Region
    • Managing complex projects related to acquisition of portfolio and helping customers in the new product introduction process
    • Initiating and coordinating the technical review process among internal specialists.
    • Coordinating input from cross-functional global technical specialists and writing of the technical due diligence reports.
    • Performing construction monitoring of wind farms, including inspection of wind turbines.
    • Performing audits of wind turbine manufacturing facilities.
    • Managing and performing operational assessment of wind turbine through in-depth analysis and detailed inspections. Should have passion for empirical studies and gather experience of turbines in field that include climbing and witnessing performance of turbines in varied environmental conditions.
    • Coordinate with offices in Europe and Asia Pacific region for the delivery of services and training of local team
    • Maintain an environment oriented to trust and help team members reach their potential
    • Support the continuous improvement of the methodology and documentation
    • Participate in R&D projects and contribute to publishing of journal papers.
    • Any other appropriate duties as directed by line management

     

    Position Qualifications

     Position Qualifications 

    • Bachelor/Master Degree in Engineering with excellent academic records
    • More than 7 years of significant relevant experience.
    • Ability to write and compose clear and accurate reports in English
    • Superior organization, coaching and interpersonal skills, combined with effective leadership, decision-making, and communication
    • Ability to work in a pressurised consultancy environment – operating to tight timescales.
    • Willingness to work on site.
    • Adaptability, and able to cope with a wide variety of tasks.
    • Good IT skills, and experience using MS Office suite packages and AutoCAD or Microstation
