Brief Team and Position Summary:


Tasks May Include: (Essential roles, responsibilities and activities a candidate may expect)

  • Perform generation interconnection and renewable integration studies for various RTO/ISO regions based on the regional reliability standards
  • Modeling and analysis of renewable generation technologies including but not limited to utility-scale wind, solar, batter storage projects
  • Preparing study reports in presentation, word, report and excel formats
  • Manage IPP/Developer clients in terms of projects, reports, presentations and deliverables
  • Good in communication and ready to talk to clients and handle projects on own with minimum supervision
  • Perform steady state and short circuit analysis. Should be able and willing to learn various power system softwares as and when required and perform the studies as per directions of the supervisor.
  • Should be able to do coding and be able to modify existing codes in VB/ excel macro.

Position Qualifications


Requirements:  (Mandatory qualifications for this position)


  • Bachelor in Electrical Engineering with major courses in power system planning and power markets including load flow, dynamic studies.
  •  (0-3) years of experience in running steady state studies including AC power flow and contingency analysis on small/large interconnected power system networks. Experience in short circuit and knowledge of ISO/RTO operations and methods.
  • Some domestic travel may be required (up to 10% annually)
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • Willingness and ability to pass a background investigation and drug test


Preferred Skills:

  • Masters in Electrical Engineering with emphasis on power system courses.
  • Familiarity with Power World, PSS/E, PSLF and ASPEN.
  • Familiarity or Experience in performing steady state voltage security analysis including PV/QV analysis on utility scale transmission system networks.
  • Familiarity or Experience in conducting generation interconnection and transmission system reliability studies as per relevant Independent System Operator (ISO) or Regional Transmission Organization (RTO) standards.
  • Transmission planning experience in utility/consulting environment.
  • Working knowledge of automation scripts such as VB, and python for development of automation modules for power system analysis. 
  • Working knowledge of VB, and python for development of automation modules for power system analysis are preferred for this position. Should be able to understand, modify and create codes in VB excel macros and python for performing studies
