Local Unit & Position Description

What is the purpose of the position and the prime reason for its existence? 


With the purpose of conducting a standardized, high quality and cost – efficient support function, GSS finance will re-organize its India, Sri Lanka & Bangladesh Operations into a centre responsible for defined finance processes and transactional tasks in India, Sri Lanka & Bangladesh.  


Responsible for managing tax reporting and compliance within India, Sri Lanka & Bangladesh region.  Ensures tax returns are completed and accurate to minimize tax obligations. Responsible for tax planning in preparation for future filings. Performs estimations, analysis, planning, and research and oversees tax audits” 

  • Responsible for the tax process and tax compliance process, including working and coordination with our approved external tax advisors.
  • Prepares and files all corporate tax returns
  • Oversight of international business/tax structure, including intercompany transactional activity, transfer pricing, foreign tax credits, GST and other issues.
  • Develop and maintain processes for all tax provisions, returns, estimates and extensions.
  • Ensure that tax compliance works are filed in a timely manner for all legal entities.
  • Participate in various projects involving our enterprise accounting and reporting system

Position Qualifications

Required education and level:

  • Chartered Accountant
  • Experience on GST, Transfer Pricing, Withholding tax, International taxation, Corporate tax
  • Must have strong familiarity with GAAP/ IFRS

Other professional qualifications required:

  • Solid experience from a global Finance organisation in an international company. Good understanding of taxation impacting all key business processes across functional areas. Experience working in Oracle is an advantage

Length and type of experience required performing duties of the position:

  • 7 - 10 years of tax experience in roles of progressively increasing responsibility.
  • Should enjoy problem solving, as well as analysis and appropriate resolution of technical tax issues.
  • Positive attitude towards people and work assignments, and collaborative work style.
  • Experience with Transfer Pricing.
  • Strong international tax experience.
  • Understanding of various regional tax laws relating to GST, Withholding, Income and other taxes.
  • Transaction structuring and support
  • Knowledge of Oracle will be a plus.
  • Good excel and reporting skills
