Local Unit & Position Description

The Business Controller (BC) is a key member of Malaysia Leadership Team (LT) and reports directly to the Head of Department (HoD).


Malaysia is a very dynamic unit with the goal of being at best practice level when it comes to administrative processes such as project management, financial control and reporting, and in the development of personnel.


In this fast-paced working environment, the BC will be tasked with the responsibility of establishing and executing the following activities within the areas of Finance, QHSE and Operations support:


Business Support

  • Advise the HoD and the LT on issues related to planning, budgeting, controllership, pricing, capacity utilisation, project control, financial system, efficient organising, debt collection, accounting etc.
  • Participate in Business Review Meetings and actively identify improvement areas with regard to the unit's financial control, keep management informed, and carry out corrective actions when required.
  • Facilitate the administration and claim process of the government grant including the respective external audits.
  • Initiate and carry out commercial audits on general financial management and commercial project management processes to ensure these are at best practice level according to DNVG L processes.
  • Make use of IT-systems related to planning, budgeting, financial control, accounting and follow-up, and ensure that all department staff have the required knowledge of these tools.
  • Evaluate performance (financial results and Key Performance Indicator scores) compared to plans, and develop and recommend corrective actions to the Leadership team when deemed necessary.
  • Drive NGF implementation for the department in the coming year.
  • Support the LT on annual HR processes as well as on HR issues with specific relevance for the unit.
  • Support the LT in coordinating QHSE processes in line with requirements in DMS.
  • Improve work processes within the area of business support in the department.
