Local Unit & Position Description

The right candidate for this position will be an individual who has a natural intellectual curiosity, strong analytical skills, and the desire to drive improvements and continuously simplify processes. The candidate will flourish in a “hands-on role”.


Payroll (60%)

  • Responsible for payroll tax activities in the Asia Pacific region; including compliance with multi-jurisdictional tax regulations
  • Manage the relationship with local payroll providers in each country
  • Process bi-weekly /monthly, multi-location payroll for 300+ employees  (Currently: Singapore, New Zealand)
  • Ensure an accurate and timely process of all monthly payroll related transactions, including but not limited to employee’s payroll cycles, pension, tax and statutory requirements
  • Process and review year-end / leavers payroll tax filings in various jurisdictions
  • Liaise and work with Global Mobility team / tax agents / Finance on monthly expatriate salary reconciliation & payment
  • Review existing payroll practices, provide recommendation on process and policy changes as needed
  • Maintain confidentiality and all matters related to compensation, including all payroll files
  • Assist and involvement in internal and external audits
  • Provide positive customer service on all questions related to compensation from employees, taxing authorities, senior management, third party vendors, accounting, etc.


HR Administration (40%) :

  • Maintenance of (static) employee records and update for changes in the HRIS and (electronic) personnel files.
  • Maintenance of organization data of HR units in the HRIS
  • Providing country reports on headcount and statutory reports
  • Liaise with insurance broker for employee insurance matters
  • Booking of costs in company cost management systems
  • Managing absences: leave balances, work schedules, downloads of variables as overtime and allowances, time off in lieu records as input for monthly payroll, produce reports for monthly leave accruals etc.



Position Qualifications

  • Degree / Diploma in Finance or accounting or other relevant fields
  • At least 5 years of local payroll experience; with 2 years managing automated multi-location payroll
  • Good understanding of international assignees payroll processes
  • Experience working in a share service environment / with regional exposure
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task under tight deadlines
  • Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and persuasively, verbally and in writing
