Local Unit & Position Description

We are looking for an ambitious individual who would like to join our product team for OpenText InfoArchive and start developing software development and data engineering skills in a global organization.


OpenText Infoarchive is an enterprise archive software which allows for both archiving of data from legacy applications to be retired, and live archiving of data from production applications.  The solution is built on a java technology stack, and utilizes an XML database (xDB) for data processing and archiving.  In order to facilitate ETL, an internal ETL framework has been developed using Apache ANT and Java.


During the internship program, you will be involved in:

  1. Automating the ETL process with our internal ETL framework written in Java 8
  2. Further developing testing frameworks, to support automated testing of ingested data and archived applications
  3. Writing scripts, automating common tasks
  4. Application decommissioning projects with OpenText InfoArchive
  5. Creating searches for decommissioned applications with XQuery
  6. Working in a global team spread across several countries
  7. Creating documentation – both Javadocs and user manuals for features you develop 

Position Qualifications

We are looking for:

  • Computer science students of minimum 2nd year or graduates able to work at least 20 hours a week
  • Experience in working on Microsoft operating systems/platforms
  • Programming skills in any language
  • Good English skills (spoken and written)
  • Willingness to learn

Additionally, we value (but not require):

  • Programming skills in Java, preferably version 8
  • Knowledge of Apache ANT
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycles
  • Knowledge of any version control system, preferably Git
  • Knowledge of XML and related technologies
  • Knowledge of Jenkins and automation processes
  • Basic knowledge of client-server model
