Are you looking for a leading business development focussed role in supply chain and sustainability services?


We’re looking for an experienced Senior Consultant with exceptional, proven, business development & sales skills, and deep expertise in supply chain sustainability to join our UK Assessment team in the UK.


This is an exciting role requiring a professional who can shape and execute a business development plan to deliver £250K+ of sales in year 1 and lead multi-disciplinary consultancy teams in complex high value sales deals, both targeting tenders and leading major bids and also leading growth in existing key accounts.


On achieving these results you will be following through into leading project delivery teams to ensure customers experience the full value from the service promise and achieve their business goals and outcomes.


We help clients integrate sustainability into their core business strategy; operations and supply chains acting as a trusted third party delivering a full suite of assurance and advisory services.


You will get the opportunity to lead projects across a number of domains including supply chain sustainability; assurance; strategy, green bonds, and climate change services. You will play a leading role in the business development, sales & delivery of supply chain services as part of a strong team of professionals and world class experts.


Our Team:

Our UK team comprises 20 members, based predominantly at our offices on the south bank (central London near Blackfriars/Waterloo).  The UK Sustainability team sits within our Business Assurance division and works closely with our global DNV GL sustainability teams in the Nordic countries, USA and Italy. We are the regional centre of excellence for supply chain resilience & sustainability for the Northern region.


Key Accountabilities:


You will be expected to work across our range of sustainability services, which include:

  • Sales of Supply chain resilience & sustainability services
  • Formulation of innovative & sector specific value propositions that support sales of these services
  • Leadership of delivery of major projects focussed on these services
  • Contributing to the broader sales and delivery efforts across all services: Assurance services Strategy; Green Bonds and finance; Climate change; Sustainability report writing; 

You will be expected to play a key role amongst the senior business development group – Growth Leaders including

  • Delivery to quarterly sales targets and an annual run rate of £250K sales
  • Leading major sales pursuits whether new business or sales to key accounts
  • Ensuring project teams deliver to clients’ expectations, on time, on budget and to DNV GL quality standards
  • Delivering the target level of utilisation on fee paying work
  • Leading the communication with selected clients to drive growth
  • Leading the development for specific sectors
  • Working with existing and potential clients to help establish their individual needs, identifying and recommending appropriate solutions tapping into DNV GL capability across Business Assurance division and the wider group
  • Make leading contributions to thought leadership in your focus areas and sectors 

The role would report directly to the Head of UK Assessment.

Position Qualifications

The successful candidate will have the following experience and attributes:

  • Gravitas and credibility to take on visible leadership of an area of business development related to supply chain resilience and sustainability in specific sectors (especially food and beverage)
  • A strong interest and demonstrable senior level experience in corporate sustainability in one or more of our sustainability services outlined above.
  • Ability to play a leading role in the business development growth work of an international high performance team
  • Outstanding communication with experience of public speaking on behalf of their organisation
  • Proactively seeks to identify real customer needs and manages customer expectations accordingly.
  • Ability to direct the work of project teams efficiently and effectively.
  • Ability to direct teams to manage a number of tasks in parallel.
  • Communicates in a clear, open, active and honest manner and seeks understanding of other views to add value without becoming distracted from core goals
  • Excellent oral and written business English communication skills.
  • An understanding of conflicting stakeholder needs and ability to develop solutions to address these.
  • Willingness to travel and work around the UK and overseas.
  • Ability to sign up to business relevant sales targets and be accountable for high performance against these.
