    DNV GL has a specialist team for the design, analysis and modelling of energy markets and regulation that covers the whole range of services from the conceptual design of electricity and gas markets to the development of detailed rules and procedures that are necessary to implement different market models, including grid codes and market rules. Besides the design and operations of traditional power markets, the focus of the team gas increasingly shifted to system and market integration of renewable energies in recent years. In addition to conceptual work and qualitative analysis, the team also utilises a comprehensive suite of state-of-the-art tools, which allows for combined market and network simulations.

    The Energy Markets team of DNV GL is internationally based with offices in Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Iberia and Eastern Europe. They have been involved in nearly all major energy industry reorganizations and regulatory reforms across Europe. Furthermore, they have led or participated in multidisciplinary teams in several large restructuring efforts. The consultants’ expertise covers the complete spectrum of activities in this area, ranging from national tariff policy and industry restructuring to detailed strategic and analytical assistance. The team works for Donors, Governments, Regulators, banks and private clients.


    Our Student assistant responsibilities shall include but be not limited to:

    • Internet research in German and English
    • Assistance in preparation of Powerpoint based presentations
    • Calculations in Excel
    • Drafting and reviewing Word documents
    • Assistance in administrative tasks

    This job gives an opportunity to learn about consultancy work and the energy market.

    We are looking for an enrolled student available for 10 hours per week (possibly twice a week).


    Position Qualifications

    • Fluency in both German and English is required
    • Enrolled student in Economics, Business Administration or Engineering will be considered as an asset
    • Analytical thinking
    • Proficient user in MS Office, especially Excel
    • Flexible team player able to work also independently.
