    DNV GL - Energy's Sustainable Energy Use group is seeking an Assistant Operations Manager to join our Program Delivery and Implementation (PDI) team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the local Operations Manager to manage a commercial and industrial energy efficiency program for utility customers and utility clients.

    This position is based out of our Okemos, MI office.

     

    Tasks May Include

    • Managing the day to day operations for the program and direct supervision of designated staff
    • Oversees the technical and financial review of applications, and approves payments for energy efficient incentives
    • Oversees the preparation of technical and financial reports based on data from informational databases
    • Manages processes to collect, measure and evaluate program performance data
    • Performs quality control tasks as related to the program, projects and program budget
    • Stays abreast on internal policies and company business lines and services
    • Reports on program activities to and/or for the Operations Manager and other company wide leadership
    • Assists with program evaluation processes and preparing of associated materials and documents
    • Responsible for project forecasting and planning in an effective manner by consistently building and delivering accurate plans while working with specified targets and budgets
    • Assists with management of technical and financial resources for energy efficiency programs
    • Assists with preparing proposals and contracts for submission to external and internal parties
    • Frequently communicate with clients and vendors in a clear, concise, and professional manner including educating clients regarding methods and results, presenting a professional company image to clients by email, phone, and in person, and identifying where additional services may be offered

    Position Qualifications

    Position Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field; or 10 years of management experience 
    • Minimum of 5 years of project management, planning, and execution experience
    • Strong project management skills and a history of implementing process improvements
    • Energy Industry experience is a plus
    • Ability to perform detail-oriented, critical reviews of technical documentation
    • Team player with positive attitude and ability to work effectively with different teams
    • Solid computer skills, including proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
    • Strong written and verbal English communication skills

    Preferred Skills

    • Master’s Degree in related field
    • Management experience in companies performing energy efficiency improvements
    • Systematic, meticulous, and creative troubleshooting skills
    • Technical Sales or Engineering Consulting experience is a plus
    • Positive track record of client management and client facing skills
    • Detailed understanding of energy market segments and service offerings
    • Proactively communicates with impact, authenticity and empathy
