    For our Groningen office, we are looking for an Engineer in Acoustics And Flow Induced Pulsations. You will be part of a team working on topics such as:

    • Studies, research and calculations on Flow Induced Vibrations and Pulsations
    • Performing inspections and vibration & pulsations measurements in the field
    • Performing inspections and audits on gas metering stations and processing installations.

    Most of the projects which you will be working on in are predominantly focusing on achieving a safe operation of gas systems in regards to flow induced vibrations and pulsations.  For this work DNV GL has developed a method and a model to determine the risk of flow induced pulsations and recommend changes to minimize the risks.


    There is a broad field of work - from performing vibrations assessments in the design phase of a project, advising in how to incorporate changes in exiting systems and finding root causes of vibration incidents are typical phases you will encounter.


    As an engineer, you will be responsible for building the flow models, performing the calculations, reporting of the finding and advise them in optimizing the designs.


    You will be part of a team of technical experts and engineers and are expected to cooperate with DNV GL offices throughout the world, and our local teams in Groningen from DNV GL’s ‘Oil and Gas.

     

    Your tasks include:

    • To perform pulsation and vibration calculations with DNV GL’s GASFIP tool for pipeline projects
    • To write technical reports with the findings of pulsation and vibration risks and provide mitigation measures if possible
    • To work with existing and potential clients to help establish their individual needs, identifying and recommending appropriate solutions by providing high quality technical advice
    • To develop and maintain professional relationship with (potential) clients

    This is a temporary role for 2 years contract.

    Position Qualifications

    You preferably have experience in the oil and gas industry, more particularly in the design and engineering phases of pipeline project. An engineering degree (HBO) in mechanical engineering or applied physics.

     

    Personal Qualifications:
    We are looking for a new colleague with the following personal qualities:

    • Broad knowledge and interest in mechanics and physics.
    • Good interpersonal and communication skills
    • Excellent in Dutch speaking and writing
    • Excellent English proficiency
    • Experienced with MS Office suite packages (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
    • Any experience with Matlab or programming languages like Python is a pre
