    DNV GL’s Wind Turbine Inspection Department provides independent assessment services at all stages of the project lifecycle. Whenever a wind turbine and its components are inspected – at any stage from fabrication to periodic monitoring on site or investigation of damage – the key benefit for project developers, wind farm owners or investors is the objectivity of an independent evaluation and the information the inspection report reveals. DNV GL employs highly qualified inspectors with all the wind turbine expertise and experience to put customers in the picture.


    This Department has over 10 years of experience with inspection services. The inspection group in Iberia carry out an average of 250 WTG inspections per year. In this period more than 1700 wind turbines have been inspected.


    The Candidate We Seek


    The successful applicant will work as part of a team of inspectors, responsible for executing inspections, managing subcontractors and delivering high quality engineering reports.

    The job will be based in Zaragoza with extensive travelling within Spain and other countries in Europe or around the world will be required from time to time.


    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Perform the following inspections of onshore wind turbine:
      • Visual inspections of tower and nacelle;
      • Detailed inspection of machinery using videoscope;
      • Blade inspection (cherry picker, rope access or spotting scope);
      • Take oil and grease samples from various rotating equipment;
      • Vibration measurements;
      • Thermographs;
      • Functional tests of various equipment.
    • Prepare inspection reports;
    • Interface with customers to plan field work;
    • Contribute in improving procedures and aligning QSE system with other Inspection Groups across the DNV GL Group;
    • Liaise with other Inspections Centres across the DNV GL Group;

    Position Qualifications

    Required Qualifications:

    • Technical Background (Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical or similar branches). Engineer qualification will be a plus but it is not mandatory;
    • High level of English and Spanish;
    • Good organisational skills and ability to work in a pressurised consultancy environment to deliver high quality work;
    • Demonstrable ability to complete small projects or portions of large projects on time and within budget;
    • Good communication skills, including the ability to write clear and accurate reports in in Spanish and English and interact with customers;
    • Enthusiasm and self-motivation, including a willingness to develop and enjoy taking on challenges and responsibilities;
    • Customer focus and business development experience;
    • Proficiency in MS Office (Word and Excel);
    • Full driving licence.

    Preferred Qualifications: 

    • Experience of working as either as field technician or field supervisor in the wind industry;
    • Experience in technical inspections, videoscope, thermography and vibrations analysis will be a plus;
    • Experience of working as either as field technician or field supervisor in the wind industry;
    • Ability to work at height to inspect the wind turbine (after appropriate training);
    • Flexible and enthusiastic approach to work. Interest in Mechanical and Electrical aspects;
    • Good understanding of Health & Safety.
