  • Local Unit & Position Description

    DNV GL Global Shared Services IT is a truly global internal organization with approximately 380 employees located in 22 countries delivering IT services and capabilities to the DNV GL company and its customers. We want to strengthen our GSS IT Data Centre Services capacity in Gdynia and are looking for an Infrastructure Engineer.

     

    The candidate should have a thorough interest and understanding of all aspects related to operation and support of IT infrastructure.
    In order to ensure effective, stable and secure operation of DNV GL’s global IT infrastructure, the key responsibilities for the GSS IT Data Centre Services Gdynia Infrastructure Specialist are:

    • Server and application monitoring
    • Backup operations monitoring
    • Print queues management
    • Security patching
    • Server software & firmware patching
    • Incidents troubleshooting and root cause analysis
    • Conducting and supervising monthly maintenance process
    • Working in Windows Server and Linux Server environments

    Position Qualifications

    • Proficiency in English: strong verbal and written communication skills (the working language is English)
    • Microsoft Windows Server OS and Linux Server OS administrator level experience (advanced administration knowledge is welcome)
    • Experience in infrastructure monitoring (using specialized monitoring software like Microsoft SCOM, Nagios, etc.) – including advanced monitoring of servers based on Linux and Windows Operating Systems. HP hardware solutions knowledge is preferred
    • Knowledge of backup software and backup storage (e.g. Dell EMC Avamar, Veritas NetBackup)
    • Knowledge of enterprise storage solutions
    • Knowledge of IT Service Management and best practices (e.g. ITIL) is welcome
    • University education level required

    Format of operation and duties:

    • Shift and duty-based work (24/5 – day, afternoon and night)
    • Monthly Maintenance on-site duty once per month (Saturday/Sunday)
    • Backup on-call duty (weekend coverage rotated between team members)
