    BRC Lead Auditor - Food & Beverage (British Retail Consortium)

    Nationwide, USA; based out of any home office


    Brief Team and Position Summary: DNV GL's Business Assurance North America Group is seeking a BRC Lead Auditor. Our auditors perform 3rd party quality and/or safety audits/assessments on behalf of customers and their suppliers.  The BRC auditor focuses primarily on clients requiring the BRC certification but also conducts other Global Food Safety Institute audits according to their individual qualifications.  Food and Beverage auditors work with clients large and small at locations around the country to improve and ensure quality and safety at all points along the value chain.  This position can work remotely out of any home office.


    Tasks May Include: (Essential roles, responsibilities and activities a candidate may expect)

    • Performs British Retail Consortium (BRC) Food Safety and other 3rd party Global Food Safety Institute (GFSI) benchmarked certification audits for US and Canada customers
    • Performs 3rd party quality and/or safety audits/assessments on behalf of customers and their suppliers
    • Provide auditor training and BRC, ATP, and BRC Transition and Implementation Training as required
    • Maintain schedule of audit activity with customers
    • Provide timely and accurate reviews of customer corrective action and closure
    • Maintain appropriate audit credentials and pursues advancement of those credentials and other related credentials as needed

    Position Qualifications


    • Education: Bachelors in Life Science
    • Years of related experience: 3- 5 years
    • BRC Food Safety Auditor
    • Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP)
    • Possess a valid driver’s license and can rent and drive a car and travel
    • Able to walk and stand for up to 4 hours at a time and maneuver throughout multiple levels of client sites either by stairs or elevator
    • We conduct a pre-employment background check and drug screen.

    Preferred Skills (Not Required): 

    • BRC Packaging Auditor, BRC Storage and Distribution and/or other BRC qualifications
    • FSSC 22000 Lead Auditor
    • ISO 9001 Lead Auditor
    • Perform 3rd party on-site BRC audits for North American clients
    • Ability to read/interpret audit protocols, labor regulations and work instructions
    • Ability to write thorough audit reports
