    DNV GL Energy Northwest Europe, Middle East & Africa (NEMEA) is looking for a Business Controller/Finance Business Partner. The role supports Department Heads within the wider Renewable Advisory ‘Service Area’ in reaching their corporate business goals through professional and consistent finance business partnering, commercial-thinking and financial-orientated deliverables i.e. monthly P&L’s and Forecasts.

    The successful applicant will advise, support and importantly challenge their counterparts to drive business performance through, but not limited to, established processes, business reviews and high quality financial analysis (covering a range of KPI’s).

    Job purpose:

    To drive best-value for the business by working alongside management, providing informed insight and challenge to business decisions thereby influencing and shaping financial plans and future direction.


    Key responsibilities:

    • Assure that the numbers are trustworthy, complete, and on time.
    • Understand and report the financial performance of the departments during ten ‘month-ends’ per year (January/February and July/August are ‘double-months’).
    • ‘Partner’ with the business to ensure management have control over the P&L and continue to ‘own’ their results.
    • ‘Look forward’. Facilitate, report & challenge quarterly forecasting, annual budgets, pipeline development, and sustainable outlook of services.
    • Review tenders/proposals – verify they are financially robust and that the risk vs reward is sound.
    • With the assistance of ‘Project Controllers’ monitor project-execution to ensure ‘no surprises’.
    • Help line management to navigate systems and improve processes based on business needs.
    • Liaise with ‘Global Shared Services: Finance’ as and when needed.
    • Ensure compliance against DNV GL policies.

    Position Qualifications


    • Ideally 3+ years of combined accounting and finance experience at a professional level.
    • Experience of working for a multinational business in a service industry is an advantage.

    Knowledge, skills:

    • Have, or be close to completing, a Professional Accounting qualification. Alternatively, we will consider an advanced degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics.
    • Good knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
    • Good knowledge of ERP software systems are an advantage (mainly Oracle but also Agresso)
