DNV GL Hamburg seeks a Team Leader to manage our Electrical, Process & Safety unit. The unit consists of 10 engineers and specialists located in Hamburg. The unit handles diverse topics for onshore and offshore verification and certification with regards to HVAC, Electrical, Fire Protection and Process. Members of the team are typically authorised experts for the German Mining Authority.
The main focus areas for the unit are independent expert analyses of offshore platforms (wellhead, accommodation, process, transformer etc.) with regards to conformity and reliability during all phases of a project (e.g. design, fabrication, installation, commissioning and operation).
The team has a high focus on fixed offshore structures in the oil & gas as well as wind industry.
The typical services are related to verification/certification, independent analyses as 3rd party and technical advisory projects.
The unit cooperates closely with other units in our area, region and the entire DNV GL network forming multidisciplinary teams out of the Hamburg certification/verification hub. The project portfolio includes both CAPEX and OPEX projects.

The unit is part of the Plants and Pipelines section, which comprises a total of more than 20 engineers and specialists. The section is part of Oil & Gas Area Germany which consists of more than 80 skilled and enthusiastic engineers and consultants working mainly with technical advisory, risk management and verification/certification services related to structural integrity, hydrodynamics, foundations, marine operations, safety, process, electrical and cranes & lifting operations.
We are looking for a dynamic and result-oriented candidate to fill the position Team Leader - Electrical, Process & Safety. The successful candidate must possess in-depth technical knowledge within one of disciplines, knowledge in process, rotating machinery preferred. In addition, the new team lead should have a commercial mindset combined with a proactive attitude. Furthermore, the ability to communicate and cooperate across organizational and geographical borders is emphasized.
The Team Leader will report to the Head of Section.
The Team Leader will work closely with the Head of Section and the rest of the local Leader Team. This involves close and proactive collaboration with other relevant disciplines to explore opportunities and deliver projects. In general, it is expected Team leaders are around 60% chargeable on projects.

- Manage the group; including commercial performance, innovation and development of technical capabilities
- Develop and maintain customer relations
- Manage service and project portfolio
- Provide resources to projects
- Manage in liaison with Head of Section:
o Recruitment and retention
o Individual performance and remuneration processes
o Individual competence development
- Manage and execute projects within the disciplines of the unit in the role as PM/team member Position
- Masters level qualification within a relevant discipline.
- Proven technical track record within the relevant disciplines.
- Proven track record of leading people, e.g. through role as project manager for larger projects.
- Knowledge of the oil & gas industry and external network within relevant disciplines
- Fluent in German and English; additional languages are of benefit
- Driven by the interest of continuous improvement and individual competence development
- Have a sincere interest in making others succeed in their work
- Team player and good communication skills with commercial drive
