  • Local Unit & Position Description

    The Global Centre Finance delivers high quality services to European countries related to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Record to Report processes. Services are rendered in close collaboration with the GSS Finance Regional Centres, together developing the Global Shared Service Finance function for DNV GL. 

     

    We are seeking Junior Accounts Payable Accountant for the Global Centre GSS Finance based in Gdynia, Poland.


    The Junior Accounts Payable Accountant will report to Team Leader for Accounts Payable. The Junior Accounts Payable Accountant is a member of a team of accountants performing accounting for the maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions of a given geographical region.

     

    To succeed in this role you are a team player with ability to create an atmosphere of motivation and enthusiasm to be part of building up the Global Centre. You will play a key role in service implementation of the accounts payable processes.

     

    This is time-limited contract of employment.

     

    Key Tasks

     

    • Review and submit invoices for approval
    • Verify invoices with orders and receipts
    • Investigate discrepancies and take action to resolve
    • Weekly payment of vendors with vendor reconciliation
    • Follow up with internal and external suppliers on rejected invoices
    • Reconcile Accounts Payable statements if any dispute or overdue invoices
    • Monthly/weekly Accounts Payable subledger to general ledger reconciliations
    • Follow up on vendor credit
    • Follow up on recurring invoices and accruals
    • Close cooperation with GL and AR teams
    • Month end close activities

    Position Qualifications

    • Graduate with good analytical skills and relevant degree in economic or science studies in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
    • Multitasking and ability to meet deadlines
    • Working knowledge of MS Office tools (especially Excel)
    • Practical experience (internship, work practice) gained during studies is advantageous
    • Previous experience with a Professional Services Company will be an advantage
    • Excellent English skills required, written and verbal (additional European language skills will be an advantage)
