  • Local Unit & Position Description

    Gas Technology is a section that sits within the Advisory department of DNV GL. The role of the Graduate Engineer sits within the Future Gas team of the Gas Technology section and will be based in Loughborough. There will also be a requirement to travel in the UK and occasionally overseas for the customer-related work.


    Key Services provided by the Future Gas team include but are not limited to the following:

    • Flow Measurement – including custody transfer metering and measurement systems
    • Gas Quality – including gas properties, contaminants, rhinology, unconventional gases and biomethane support
    • Compliance – including gas interchangeability, combustion, contracts and regulations
    • Energy Management – including emissions, end user studies and innovative gas futures projects

    Key Accountabilities:

    • Supporting senior staff in delivering projects to the satisfaction of team lead /project lead
    • Supported by senior staff, ensuring customer satisfaction on projects while delivering the planned profit for DNV GL
    • Support conclusions and recommendations for our customers
    • Communicating with internal and external stakeholders
    • Actively seeking to improve delivery processes through innovation.
    • Developing experience and expertise across project and team activities
    • Engaging in an intensive learning and development programme
    • Establish a working knowledge and understanding of all areas within the team, section and wider department
    • Operating within formal QA standards and project procedures
    • To work within the guidelines of agreed Health and Safety requirements for the business
    • To carry out other reasonable duties/tasks as required, to deliver and meet the objectives of the Gas Technology business

    Position Qualifications

    • Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering (minimum 2:1)
    • Excellent numerical and strong analytical skills
    • Excellent verbal communications skills – ability to communicate with all levels in an organisation
    • Excellent report writing and presentation skills
    • Flexible attitude to working in a fast-paced and multi-disciplinary consultancy environment
    • When required a willingness to work out of different offices in the UK to rapidly expand skills and company service knowledge
    • Full training will be provided to not only enhance technical knowledge but also in areas such as Project Management & Sales Development
    • A broad understanding of the gas industry would be beneficial
