  • Local Unit & Position Description

    This role is to enhance capabilities and increase resources of the Wind Energy Project Engineering (PE) team. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and enthusiastic about renewables and will be able to contribute to the team from an early stage. Typically, team members work in multiple small projects over the course of the year.

    The focus of this role will be on providing technical consulting services throughout the development, procurement, construction and operation phases of wind projects. This role is intended to have a specific focus on work in technical due diligence (DD) and construction monitoring of wind projects.

    In addition, the Engineer shall have Project Manager capabilities and shall be able to manage projects of around 50k€.

    Areas of responsibilities / Key tasks:

    Project management of medium size projects

    Performance of technical due diligence:

    • Construction and operation authorizations
    • Land securement
    • Grid connection
    • Take-off agreements
    • Wind turbine technology
    • Wind farm site suitability (climatic conditions, acoustic, ground conditions, etc.)
    • Construction and operation contracts
    • Construction schedule
    • Financial model technical inputs

    Owner and/or lender engineer during construction phase:

    • Construction follow-up to monitor construction progress and control the quality of the work
    • Monthly construction meeting organization with the contractor(s)
    • Approval of contractual payment schedule condition precedents
    • Approval of take-over condition precedents and punch list issuance

    Commercial follow-up (awareness of main industry conferences, market trends, proposal management and winning new business)

    Technology scouting and market watch

    Assistance with general group activities

    The project work is often fast-paced with tight timeframes.  The candidate must be willing to work with complex tasks under such deadline pressure, and be comfortable in managing workflow to deliver work on time (working with line manager and other team members to cross allocate work to avoid overloading).


    Most work tasks will result in written reports to clients and day to day communication with clients if often by email. Good written Portuguese and English skills are essential. Spanish language desired. 

    The candidate will be expected to demonstrate initiative and self-motivation. Support, mentoring and training, as appropriate, will be provided by senior team members.

    Position Qualifications


    • Previous experience within the renewable energy industry or renewable energy taught course modules
    • Project management experience
    • Knowledge of enforceable norms and regulations within the renewable industry
    • Brazilian and Latam energy market knowledge
    • Degree in engineering or economics (provided experience in financing of renewable projects is demonstrated)
    • Preferred degree in Civil Engineering, but others will be considered
    • Very good IT skills in the most popular computer programs
    • Excellent English and Portuguese language skills (both in writing and speaking)
    • Native in Portuguese
