  • Local Unit & Position Description

    DNV GL is looking for a person with significant (minimum 7 years) experience in the Chinese solar industry in a primarily technical capacity.

     

    Specific responsibilities include:

    • Receive and effectuate requests from Chinese and international clients for DNV GL support in the Chinese solar business;
    • Be supportive in initiating and developing leads for solar proposals and projects, through visits to key existing clients and new contacts;
    • Take part in project team performing engineering analyses, due diligence reviews and owner’s engineering tasks for PV projects;
    • Coordinate localization as required to facilitate non-Chinese teams in Singapore
    • Stay abreast of the China solar industry, key stakeholders and government incentives; actively engage in business associations and professional networks;
    • Manage multiple projects to ensure they are completed within timescale and budget and to the required standard; and
    • Coordinate with business development staff and technical teams responsible for our other activities in Energy Advisory and Renewables Advisory in the region to ensure successful business development;

     

     

     

    Position Qualifications

    Experience of any of the following would be an advantage:

    • Experience utilizing PVsyst or other solar energy modeling tools
    • Experience experience utilizing R or Matlab (or similar) for statistical analysis and data regression
    • Experience in the development and/or feasibility assessment of solar or wind energy projects in India
    • Experience in the electrical or civil detailed design of solar or wind energy projects in India
    • Experience in the design, manufacture or testing of solar PV equipment
    • Experience of developing proposals for work, including budgets, appropriate contractual terms, and undertaking negotiations on scope and price with clients.

      

    Fluency in spoken and written English and Chinese is mandatory requirement

     

    The candidate shall have demonstrated technical knowledge of solar energy in China. Examples of past roles may include product development, project engineering and/or consulting. The solar engineer will be directly involved in the execution of client deliverables, undertaking some aspects of the due diligence directly, while managing regional DNV GL technical teams and local sub-consultants as required. Working experience in China in solar, energy, medium/large-scale project development & engineering and energy financing, as well as knowledge of the terrain, local codes and regulations will be viewed as a significant advantage
