• Internship Heat Transition Solutions

    Location NL-Arnhem
    Requisition ID
    Business Area
    Position Type
  • Local Unit & Position Description

The energy landscape is in transition. But the rate at which it will do so, and with what means, are a matter of contention, and that creates a large source of uncertainty for many of our customers. For example, what are valid alternatives for regions/cities in the Netherlands as they are required to disconnect from the national gas network?

As an independent and trustworthy partner, we support our customers in their challenges with decision making and managing risks in balancing the Energy Trilemma of affordability, sustainability and reliability. Providing insight in key aspects regarding the Heat Transition and Local Solutions is one of the services we provide.

Want to join us and help balance the Energy Trilemma with respect to the Heat Transition? We are looking for an intern with a technical HBO/WO background, preferably with a focus on Energy Infrastructures and/or Power Systems.

    Your tasks and responsibilities

As an intern you will be working on a project that results in a method and building blocks that allow for a quick, structured and affordable analysis of a region. The aim of this ‘quick-scan’ is to provide our customers with an overview of the future solutions/alternatives in the Heat Transition.

The above project will require a self-enabling attitude with respect to reaching the project goals. As such, you will be your own project-leader under the supervision of senior colleagues. You will also be asked to identify market opportunities, introduce the project results with/at potential customers and connect with related existing services.

    In doing so, you will:

    • Develop your knowledge on the Energy System.
    • Develop new tools or models
    • Be given the opportunity and guidance to grow to a future consulting role where you execute, lead and sell projects.

    Position Qualifications

We are looking for an intern who is a team player, enthusiastic and who actively contributes to the success of our team and collaborates to create results. At the same time, you will be required to keep track of the long-term goals of your own project and prioritize your actions where required.

    And also:

    • You are in the final year of a WO/HBO and preferably have a technical background.
    • You have relevant experience with other internships and project work.
    • You are interested in the energy transition, preferably the Heat Transition.
    • You are motivated to learn about understanding the technical consequences of a business decision as well as the business consequences of a technical decision.
    • Your verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and English are strong.
    • You are pro-active and flexible.
    • You take responsibility for your own tasks and competences.
    • You are curious, interested and engaged.

    What we're offering

A challenging and varied job in a dynamic and international environment. You will be part of a professional team of about 200 committed colleagues with different back grounds. There are plenty of opportunities for personal growth. Your home office will be at our Energy headquarters in Arnhem, the Netherlands. Naturally, a laptop and intern allowance will be made available for the agreed duration of the internship.

Please note we may close this position earlier in case of finding successful candidates.
