    DNV GL – Energy’s group is making exciting investments in energy storage and will significantly grow its storage team in 2019, for this reason our group is seeking for a Principal Subject Matter Expert (SME)Energy Storage.


    As part of DNV GL’s initiatives, significant investments through the end of 2018 and into 2019 will include:

    • New testing and data analytics capabilities to solidify DNV GL’s role as the world’s leading provider of data-driven diligence services
    • Virtual platforms for robust and efficient testing, monitoring, and design reviews to support energy storage project finance
    • Rollout of services across the entire value chain to support energy storage project development from cradle to crave

    This position may be based out of any DNV GL Energy office. Home office will be considered as well.

     

    Tasks May Include

    • Managing projects and/or project tasks, executing deliverables
    • Meeting key performance indicators individually and for the group
    • Daily interaction with customers in person or via phone or video
    • Analyzing and interpreting technical data and documents
    • Summarizing key results, and communicating and reporting these results in verbal and written form
    • Leading or assisting staff in the development of new business and projects
    • Presenting or aiding in the development of presentation materials for conferences and workshops
    • Leading or assisting in the development of new proposals for advisory or testing work

    Position Qualifications

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline. Master’s degree preferred
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in batteries or energy storage
    • Familiarity with the construction and operation of energy storage systems
    • Candidates can have any or all of the following skillsets:
      • Capability to model or simulate energy storage operations
      • Experience in battery testing or battery safety
      • Experience with energy storage hardware
      • Experience with data analytics related to the operation and maintenance of energy systems
    • Candidate must have experience in project management and leading teams
    • Business development or involvement in industry groups or committees is desired
    • Experience in the energy industry
    • Basic office skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint
    • Ability to be customer-facing
    • Interpersonal skills, customer interaction, and solid speaking and presentation skills
    • An eye for detail and desire to deliver a quality work product
    • Comfort with equipment common to the energy industry
    • Comfort with interpreting, analyzing, and synthesizing data
    • Maintain a customer-focused, consultative approach to projects and customer needs
    • Work within expected deadlines, while being adaptive to changing scope or customer needs
    • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time
    • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
