  • Local Unit & Position Description

    DNV GL – Maritime Region Americas is seeking a Senior Surveyor to join our Ciudad del Carmen Station. As a fleet in service Senior Surveyor in the Carmen station you will be a member of a highly qualified team of surveyors and auditors serving the traditional shipping segments and offshore class. This position is based out of our Ciudad del Carmen, Campeche, Mexico office.

     

    Tasks May Include

    • Ensure that duties are performed in accordance to Regulations, Instructions, Guidelines and quality requirements of the organization and the instructions of the line management
    • Maintain the confidentiality of client's business, processes, designs, developments and documentation at all times
    • When applicable, supervise the work of others and ensure that it is carried out as above and in an efficient and economic manner
    • Communicate to line management at the earliest appropriate opportunity, if in receipt of information that is important to the reputation or integrity of the organization
    • Exhibit customer oriented focus through promoting DNV GL onboard or on-site, and by acting as a technical resource for customer questions

     

     

    Position Qualifications

    Position Qualifications

    • Bachelors degree is required. Bachelors in Naval Architectural,  Naval or Marine Engineering are highly preferred 
    • Minimum 5 years of experience on Class and Statutory surveys is required
    • Machinery systems technical design & operational knowledge of Ship / MOU hull
    • Class, statutory surveyor & auditor certifications are required (ISM – ISPS – MLC)
    • Familiarity with Safety Management System, International Ship Security Code and Maritime Labor Convention desired
    • Highly motivated individual able to work independently on surveys & audits and as part of team
    • Willingness to travel 20% travel of the time
    • Ability and willingness to climb and work in confined spaces / tanks, climbing pilot ladders, working at heights, travel by helicopter, plane, crew boat & launches and undertake voyage surveys
    • Strong communication skills in both English & Spanish 
    • Place of residence: Ciudad Del Carmen, Campeche
