    With the purpose of conducting a standardized, high quality and cost –efficient support function, GSS finance is organizing into larger regional supporting centres. These centralized hubs, together with the next generation finance (NGF) project and legal entity efficiency program (LEEP) will all come into play to deliver significant benefits to the organization by improving quality efficiency, compliance and improving the competence of our resources. In this way GSS will better support DNV GL’s business areas in meeting their strategic goals.


    The GSS finance regional centre in Dubai (UAE) supports all business areas in the middle east and Africa region. The regional shared service centre is looking for an Intercompany accountant with strong technical skills, a customer centric mindset, self-motivated with positive and can do attitude to be part of this great team. As Intercompany accountant, you will be processing intercompany recharges, intercompany reconciliations, IC dispute resolutions etc. This position is vital for the company and is in our Dubai, UAE office. Your sharp judgment, accounting experience, computer skills, organization and superior communication skills will all come into play in this dynamic role. The successful candidate must demonstrate a positive attitude, and the willingness to go the extra mile to meet organisational goals.


    Main Responsibilities

    • Reconciliation of Intercompany balances for the Middle East and Africa Entities within deadlines
    • Raise intercompany recharge invoices to intercompany partners monthly before the internal invoicing cut off
    • Resolve intercompany open issues based on the reconciliations performed
    • Monthly follow-up for settlement of intercompany receivables from global counterparts
    • Monthly analysis of Intercompany AP/AR trends and deviation report
    • Ensure that Intercompany AP invoices returned in Basware are communicated with counterparts on items needing action
    • Review bank reconciliations to ensure prompt allocation of Intercompany receipts and payments
    • Identify and support process improvement opportunities for the intercompany activities for efficiency
    • Participation in a variety of adhoc finance department projects for GSS Finance Middle east and Africa group
    • Other tasks as assigned by Finance manager from time to time

    Position Qualifications

    Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience

    • Good knowledge of Intercompany accounting process
    • Minimum five years’ experience in accounting, knowledge of finance processes like accounts payable, intercompany. General ledger knowledge will be a plus.
    • Experience with a Shared Service organisation preferred
    • Knowledge of ERP systems. Oracle knowledge will be a plus.


    • Appropriate handling of confidential information always
    • Advanced Microsoft excel skills
    • Fluency in written and spoken English
    • Energetic and approachable fostering positive atmosphere
    • Solution oriented, willing to take initiative to solve problems
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision

    • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
    • Proven ability to learn and understand new software/accounting systems

    Additional Information:



    • 40 hours per week, Sunday – Thursday. Hours are flexible, with starting times between 8.00 a.m. – 9.30 a.m. The working day is 8 hours, excluding lunch break.
