    DNV GL - Energy's Sustainable Energy Use group is seeking a Senior Engineer to join our Program Delivery and Implementation (PDI) team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of Engineers to assist in managing a commercial and industrial energy efficiency program for utility customers and utility clients. This position is based out of our Okemos, MI office.

     

    Tasks May Include

    • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Engineers while ensuring they meet program metrics
    • Collaborate with other members of the management team sharing knowledge and ideas in support of innovation and customer satisfaction
    • Review and verify technical merits of business customer energy efficiency applications, including calculation of energy savings and verification of equipment specifications
    • Perform customer site inspections to verify the installation of energy efficient equipment at businesses throughout Michigan
    • Interact with customers to address questions or concerns about installed equipment or programmatic information
    • Review and verify energy savings calculations and guide other staff in the best practices for various energy savings technologies with a particular emphasis on lighting but also including HVAC, fans, pumps, air compression and industrial process use
    • Plan and deliver presentations at meetings and training events for trade allies and customers, clients, and others
    • Identify opportunities for energy savings and demand reduction

    Position Qualifications

    Position Qualifications

    • High school diploma, or equivalent, required
      • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field preferred
        • 5 years of experience in a related field accepted in lieu of a degree
    • 4 years of experience managing teams and individuals required
    • Solid problem-solving capabilities
    • Creativity and attention to detail
    • Team player with positive attitude and ability to work effectively with different teams
    • Ability to translate technical messages for diverse audiences
    • Willingness and ability to travel in and around client service territory
    • Solid computer skills, including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
    • Strong verbal and written English communication skills
    • We conduct pre-employment background investigations and drug screens

    Preferred Skills

    • Solid technical operations familiarity with the electric and/or gas utility industry and a good overall understanding of the energy industry, trends and products is a plus
