  • Local Unit & Position Description

    GSS has consolidated the HR service delivery into Regional Centres where proximity to the Business Areas is required and has built a Global Centre HR in Poland that delivers services that are location independent or can be digitalized.

    The GSS HR Regional Centre West, South and East Europe (WSEE) is located in the Netherlands, with country offices in Italy and Greece. In this region we provide HR services to approximately 2.000 employees located across 20 countries.

    In the Piraeus office we service 10 countries in the South East European area, such as Greece, Turkey, Romania, Croatia and Bulgaria. With the GSS HR Advisor as operational manager and the GSS HR Expert we focus on delivery of HR services to the line management and approximately 200 employees dominantly from the Business Area Maritime. We provide services like HR advisory, recruitment, compensation & benefits, labour law advice and HSE.  


    We are now seeking a GSS HR Expert South East Europe


    The GSS HR Expert South East Europe consults and advises the Business Area’s line managers and delivers value adding services aligned with our GSS HR SLA deliveries. As an HR Expert, you will further develop your understanding of our various business areas operational challenges and needs, you are customer centric and have HR knowledge within your areas of expertise. The GSS HR Expert reports to the Regional Manager of GSS HR WSEE. The position is based in Piraeus, Greece and local C&B conditions apply.


    Key tasks:


    • Support individual employment related cases
    • Consult and handle country specific C&B topics, such as review of C&B package, salary adjustment process and pension
    • Monitor local legislation and ensure compliance with country specific labor law legislation in cooperation with external vendors
    • Services to international assignees and global mobility advice
    • Payroll processing in Greece
    • Advise on country specific and office related HSE topics
    • Recruitment: interviews with candidates and employer branding

    Position Qualifications

    • Bachelor/University degree in a relevant area
    • Minimum 2 years of experience working in a broader international environment in several HR fields such as HR advisory, individual employment relations, compensation & benefits, pension & insurance
    • Excellent English and Greek language skills required, written and verbal
    • Some knowledge of the specific labour market and labour law of the countries in South East Europe
    • Experience with HR systems & tools
