  • Local Unit & Position Description

    This role is to enhance capability and increase resource of the Asset Integrity & Performance (AIP) and Project Development Analytics (PDA) teams. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and enthusiastic about renewables and will be able to contribute to the teams from an early stage. Typically, team members work multiple projects over the course of the year. The focus of this role will be on analyzing data from operational projects. This will include assessment of SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) and other operational renewable energy data.  The secondary focus of this role also to undertake technical analysis of onshore/offshore wind farms at the pre-construction stage of development.

     

    In the end, producing detailed and high-quality reports for clients are required. The role will be primarily focused on Turkey, in future potentially also covering surrounding countries. 

     

    Duties may include (depending on experience)

    • Analysis of operational wind farm data to assess performance, diagnose faults and derive long-term production forecasts;
    • Analysis of preconstruction wind farm data to undertake energy production assessments which include;
      • site visits, wind data processing and quality checking, correlation analysis, wind flow and wake modelling, review of energy losses, statistical analysis and report production;
      • Undertaking site conditions assessments which include elements of the above but also a review of extreme wind speed, ambient and wake induced turbulence intensity, wind shear and temperature range;
      • Produce detailed reports which review the feasibility of sites for development which can include, feasibility studies, site meteorological measurements, shadow flicker assessment, noise modelling, visual impact assessment;
      • Inspecting site and measuring equipment;
      • Designing and optimizing wind farm layouts. 
    • Writing proposals and winning new business;
    • Project management of small to large projects;
    • Monitoring the performance of operating renewable projects for owners and lenders;
    • Assistance with general group activities;
    • Occasional travel within in Turkey and outside of Turkey and of a short-term nature e.g. visits to Clients and Exhibitions.

    Position Qualifications

    • A strong degree a reputable university, preferably Master's, PHD's, in engineering or technical science with solid academic background;
    • Preferably + two (2) years of experience in similar position;
    • Good organizational skills and ability to work in a pressurized consultancy environment to deliver high quality work;
    • Demonstrable ability to complete projects on time and within budget;
    • Good communication skills, including the ability to write clear and accurate reports in English and Turkish and interact with customers;
    • Enthusiasm and self-motivation, including a willingness to develop and enjoy taking on challenges and responsibilities;
    • Customer focus and business development experience.

    Desirable

    • Experience within the renewable energy industry in variety of sectors such as project developers and consultants; 
    • Previous experience of one or more disciplines in the AIP and PDA teams, such as Wind farm long term operational or pre-construction energy production assessments;
    • Analyzing and interpreting large data sets, such as SCADA data;
    • Big data, data mining and data analytics knowledge and experience;
    • An interest in, and aptitude for, programming and databases (e.g. MATLAB, T-SQL, VBA, R or Python);
    • Turkish market knowledge.
