  • Local Unit & Position Description

    DNVGL Business Assurance UK (BAUK) is targeting significant revenue growth in 2020 and onwards building on and reaching out from the foundations laid over the last four years. To enable this, a dedicated external sales function within BAUK “Certification” is established, initially comprising a Sales Executive role.

     

    The key objective for this dedicated external sales function is to expand our Enterprise Customer platform, (our portfolio of medium-sized new customers) within a defined post coded territory covering Northern England and Scotland.

     

    A dedicated Business Development Manager will be appointed to build pipeline and execute sales within the Enterprise Customer Segment (ie. new business), whilst also working with existing customers to increase their portfolio with DNV GL. 

     

    The role will be sharply focused on pro-actively driving sales against annually set targets, and the success of this role will constitute an essential contribution to BAUK reaching its goals.

     

    The Business Development Manager will report to the Sales Manager in BAUK Certification. 

     

    This position is a Home-based role either in the Scotland or Northern England.

     

    Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

    • Take a lead role in pro-actively building sales opportunities using all available channels
    • Convert opportunities to sales to meet set personal sales targets, support other sales executives and the Sales Manager in doing the same to meet BAUK sales targets
    • Drive business development within the defined territory to the extent that it is “owned” and operated as if a business in its own right
    • Actively engage in the external customer and stakeholder communities in order to generate opportunities (eg. Meet with Consultants, Trade Associations and Industry Bodies, attend external events), the ability and willingness to present at external events is highly desirable
    • Channel expectations and needs from customers, key stakeholders as well as other key players to BAUK management and other staff in a manner helping BAUK to align and adapt our service offerings as well as marketing and communication means to support BAUK growth ambitions
    • Ensure that all aspects of sales activities are recorded according to BA requirements (by use of our NGPS system)
    • Take a lead role in delivering solutions-based sales and pro-active ‘insight selling’

    Position Qualifications

    • Demonstrable experience of successful track record in business to business sales in a target driven environment
    • Demonstrable evidence of translating explicit and implicit customer needs and expectations into coherent, compelling and value adding offerings and solutions
    • Able to demonstrate evidence of successfully anticipating customer needs and expectations
    • Possess the ability to learn and understand the range of technical aspects of accreditation and audit
    • Processes and the commercial and technical interfaces relevant for the business setting in which Business Assurance operates
    • A background in Certification is not necessary however we are looking for experienced Sales professionals who are adaptable and looking for a new challenge and a chance to grow in a dynamic and motivated team.
