    Technical & Business Development Manager at DNV GL Transportation Services

     

    DNV GL Business Assurance Italy is looking for a Business development & Technical Manager for our Railway branch. The candidate will partner with clients belonging to the Railway industry to improve the quality and safety of their business performance through the application of internationally recognized standards. The candidate, although belonging to the Italian Legal Entity, will work at the Regional Southern Europe

     

    Tasks May Include:

    • Actively promote, support and facilitate the fulfilment of DNV GL's objectives, vision and values,
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of the Regional Business Plan
    • Develop business related to new identified sectors and services, according to the Sales strategy and Regional Plan, identify and prioritize new and existing markets, customers and services,
    • Contribute to develop and maintain a network of Channels that will nurture the lead generation activities.
    • Manage the profiling of customers, and marketing actions with sales of all the countries, belonging to the Region
    • Prioritize involvement in relevant conferences / papers / expos, and Assist in organization and execution of selected events,
    • Manage Key Customer Relationships
    • Assist Customer managers and service managers in the relationships with their clients
    • The overall responsibility for ensuring that inspection and assessment activities are carried out in accordance with scope of Railway Accreditation and notification, including the specific requirements of the relevant interoperability Directives, TSI, national regulations and standards.
    • The responsibility for keeping Railway Accreditation and Notification, by keeping up to date about any changes that may affect the general conditions of the accreditation and the organization.
    • Interact directly with customers at all levels of management in developing timely, complete and accurate reports of their current level of compliance.

    Position Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Electronics, or other related fields
    • 10 years minimum of working experience in the field and proved competence at Expert level both as “Engineer” and “Inspector”
    • Working knowledge of TSI, interoperability Directives and Italian national regulation.
    • Large experience in “on board or earth signaling” at international level will be an advantage
    • Familiarity with the ‘Certification, Testing & Inspection Body’ requirements under ISO 17020, ISO 17021 and ISO17065 and regarding all accredited activities, including those not subject to national or international authority schemes
    • Appreciation of the fundamentals of control processes and the various control functions applied during the manufacture, installation and operation of the objects subject to accredited inspection services
    • Demonstration of excellent customer service skills
    • Ability to work independently and in teams
    • Good English communication skills
    • Knowledge of French or Spanish will be an advantage
