    DNV GL Digital Solutions deliver digital services across a variety of industries. We have strong growth ambitions and are seeking a Release Manager for the Ship Ecosystem.

     

    We are helping the shipping industry to maximize compliance, profitability, and environmental sustainability.

     

    Join our international team for the maritime software business in Rostock and help us and our customers to grow! 

     

    We are a team of 100 people specialized in application development and testing, product and release management, service and IT infrastructure as well as sales and consulting.  You will work in close cooperation with colleagues from Rostock and Gdynia.  

      

    Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to: 

    • Conceptualize the design and planning of releases in a medium scale organization with a hybrid technology stack and global customers
    • Identify and drive improvements to the release process
    • Take ownership of the release schedule and be responsible for the release delivery
    • Maintain the release schedule for the product portfolio and ensure alignment across key stakeholders
    • Verify release packages for production and testing (e.g. beta test) activities
    • Create metrics and reports for the release status
    • Cooperate closely and coordinate with project managers, developers, QA, IT, environment management and leadership team to implement the identified release plan and schedule
    • Analyze the technical risks of release strategy and release plans; identify contingency plans and recommend solutions to the leadership team
    • Participate in change control and emergency change meetings to discuss risks and find solutions
    • Main job location is Rostock, some travelling is required

    Position Qualifications

    • Experience with agile development and agile transformation
    • Expertise in software integration cross platforms and technologies
    • Ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams
    • Experience in project management
    • Very good German and English, both in written and spoken
    • Advanced written and verbal communication skills
    • Expert knowledge of the software development life cycle

    Nice to have:

    • Knowledge in IT process management and best practices therein
    • Good knowledge of software quality management
    • Good knowledge of best practices for configuration management
    • Knowledge of CI/CD protocols and DevOps auto deployment tools
    • Knowledge of ITIL’s service transition life cycle stage
    • Working experience in Azure DevOps and/or JIRA
    • Working experience in cloud deployment and delivery models
