  • Local Unit & Position Description

    DNV GL – Maritime Region Americas is seeking a Senior Surveyor to join our Miami Station.  As a fleet in service Surveyor in the Miami station you will be member of a highly qualified team of surveyors and auditors serving the more traditional shipping segments calling at ports in the Caribbean.

     

    Tasks may include

    • Ensure that the work or duties performed are in accordance with the Rules, Regulations, Instructions, Guidelines and quality requirements of the organization and the instructions of the line management.
    • Maintain the confidentiality of Clients' business, processes, designs, developments and documentation at all times.
    • When applicable, to supervise the work of others and ensure that it is carried out as above and in an efficient and economic manner.
    • Communicate to line management at the earliest appropriate opportunity if in receipt of information that is important to the reputation or integrity of the organization.
    • Exhibit customer oriented focus through promoting DNV GL onboard or on-site, and by acting as a technical resource for customer questions.

    Position Qualifications

    Requirements

     

    • Education: Naval Architect, Marine Engineer, Experience Chief Engineer. Technical degree will be considered; University degree is preferred.
    • 5 years of related experience
    • Management systems auditor experince 
    • Technical competencies: class & statutory surveyor experience 
    • Behavioral competencies: Team player but able to work independently on surveys.
    • Travel requirement (% of the year) 65% primarily to Caribbean islands
    • Physical abilities necessary to perform regular functions of the job: Climbing pilot ladders & tanks, flying, flying in helicopter, crew boat launches, voyage surveys.
    • Language: English Speaking / Writing proficiency
