Since 1864, our purpose has been to safeguard life, property and the environment. And while the purpose does not change, the means evolve all the time. We constantly innovate to make the most of data and technology. With good success, as we are the world’s largest maritime classification society.
Today we are about 12,000 people working in more than 100 countries. Our core business is to ensure that ships are correctly designed, built, and operated. We have many other activities, and you can find out more about us by visiting www.dnvgl.com.
One of the things that set us apart is that we are a foundation. That means we can think and act long-term, instead of responding to the daily demands of stock markets. And profits are reinvested into the company and the employees.
