    The Environmental Technology section in Maritime Advisory supports our customers in optimizing their decisions on environmental technology, alternative fuels and environmental policy. With more than 20 years of service delivery dedicated to ship emissions and abatement strategies, we know the game both down to the details and along the bigger lines. That makes our competence highly sought for in industry and public sector when navigating the ongoing green transition. We often work in the intersection between technology, economics, and policy and we use interdisciplinary teams.


    Our customers include ship owners, cargo owners, suppliers, financial organizations, national and international authorities, and other players in the maritime value chain. We are a preferred advisor in the ongoing process of shifting to low and zero emission solutions in the Norwegian ferry sector and we are assigned as technical advisors for national public and private incentive schemes for environmental technology investments. Our section also manages th­­e Maritime Battery Forum and the Green Shipping Program – including the newly formed GSP Service Center for Fleet Renewal.


    Due to a high and increasing demand for our knowledge and services, we are now looking for new colleagues to strengthen our team. Specifically, the section needs new colleagues for projects dealing with greenhouse gas reductions, including technology options, alternative fuels, regulation development, economics and financing, market drivers, reduction potentials, future scenarios and barriers. The decarbonization of shipping will lead to decades of transition within the maritime industry, with a need for qualified advisors to find the right solutions.


    The ideal candidate has a strong interest and knowledge of environmental solutions and policy, and a documented ability to analyze complex issues and to communicate clearly in writing.


    The right candidate will amongst other be involved in:

    • Assistance to shipowners to advance green fleet renewal; screening analyses, design support and investment analyses, technical newbuild support
    • Technical and economic analysis, feasibility studies of low- and zero emission solutions, including full-electric and hybrid-electric ships, LNG, scrubbers, hydrogen, ammonia, fuel cells and other emission reducing technologies
    • Assistance in developing strategies and approaches for implementing green solutions on behalf of maritime clients, authorities, public administration and incentive schemes
    • Execution of complex technology and policy projects, with a strong focus on structured and high quality report writing
    • Customer dialogue, scoping of projects, coordination with customers and project delivery
    • Marketing, sales and business development

    Position Qualifications

    We are looking for a colleague with:

    • M.Sc. or Ph.D. within relevant fields
    • Understanding and knowledge of the maritime sector, environmental regulations and marine systems
    • Preferably experience in handling newbuilding projects for a ship-owner organization
    • Excellent ability to process and structure information, and to communicate clearly in writing
    • Insight in low and zero emission fuels, technologies and ship engine systems
    • Analytical skills and excellent MS Excel skills
    • Interest in interdisciplinary work

    Excellent Norwegian language skills is a prerequisite due to our core customer base. You also have very good skills in technical writing and have good communication skills in English. You are customer-oriented, service minded, supportive and proactive.
