  • Local Unit & Position Description

    Maritime Advisory Singapore is an established consulting unit in Region South East Asia, Pacific and India. DNV GL ambition is to be a data-smart solutions organisation providing management and technical advisory services within the maritime industry.

     

    Our clients include ship-owners and ship operators (both Deep Sea and Offshore), ship managers, yards and marine equipment suppliers, charterers & cargo owners, financiers, ports and government authorities.

     

    We are seeking candidates, to be based in Singapore and part of our team of experience maritime consultants in advisory projects as well as Research and Innovation activities. The selected individuals can expect to work in a dynamic, high performing team with diverse background and experience, leveraging on DNV GL local and global network of experts in different fields, accelerated learning curve and working on exciting projects with meaningful impact to the clients’ organisation and wider maritime industry.

     

    As the lead for Risk and Safety, you will be part of an experienced team delivering tailor-made solutions to our clients within the Region, with focus areas on alternative marine fuel, safety and sustainability areas, efficiency improvements and OPEX reduction, asset integrity & asset life cycle management, at the same assisting our clients in their digital transformation journey.

     

    The activities covering the entire project life-cycle from project scoping to final delivery, incorporating all elements of analysis:

    • Opportunity assessments – identify improvement areas and quantify potential benefits
    • Design of new solutions – working together with the client to develop cost effective and sustainable solutions including organisation performance management and using data-driven decision-making
    • Implementation in the organisation – ensure to realise the benefits by implementing the developed solutions both ashore and onboard including process improvement leveraging on digital transformation opportunities and benefits

    Position Qualifications

    The right candidates should have the following background:

    • Master Degree in one or more of the following subjects: Risk and Safety, Chemical/Environmental Engineering, Naval architecture/marine engineering, maritime studies with more than 4 years' relevant experience in risk and safety business or consulting role with good knowledge of the maritime and offshore industry
    • Alternatively, a bachelor’s degree in any of the above with more than 7 years’ relevant experience in risk and safety business or consulting role with good knowledge of the maritime and offshore industry

    The candidates are expected to be highly motivated individuals and driven to achieve superior results through teamwork and individual performance. Also, valued for their communication skills and high level of integrity. Be able to demonstrate the following;

    • Sales and Business Development role for Maritime Advisory services
    • Takes lead as bid manager and actively contributes to winning new external work
    • Takes role of project management, stream lead, core team member, and/or subject matter expert
    • Plans and executes work with required quality and within agreed schedule and budget
    • Flexible, agile and willingness to learn and collaborate with peers and other units
    • Work independently and apply both own knowledge and DNV GL / external best practice in the work
    • Communicate, using appropriate channels, in a clear, open, active and honest manner
