Position Qualifications



GreenPowerMonitor part of DNV GL Group (established in Japan in 1965 and with 4 offices established), offers products and services in the renewable energy sector, with a specific focus in the photovoltaic space. GPM has consolidated its position as the independent leader in management, monitoring and control of renewable energy installations with more than 30GW globally managed and more than 4,000 renewable energy facilities worldwide.

GreenPowerMonitor is looking to grow our Technical team in Japan, looking for a motivated and passionate renewable energy expert willing to help us take our monitoring solutions to the next level in Japan and other countries in Asia. GPM has been actively working in the solar PV in Japan and successfully installed over 60 projects with +400MW experience.

The position is a part of Project Execution Department directly reporting to the Global Head of Project Execution and getting support locally from the Regional Manager in Asia-Pacific.

The main duties of this position are:

During the project commissioning:

  1. Support during the Project Execution phase of the monitoring solutions form design, technical discussion with customer and contractors and successfully deliver of the solutions Onsite and remote support for commissioning of SCADA & monitoring for solar PV projects
  2. Onsite installation and configuration of SCADA systems and monitoring devices.
  3. Programming of data acquisition devices using Linux OS or similar, data servers and other equipment involved in a SCADA system for a solar PV plant
  4. Perform onsite trainings to operators/customers about the SCADA capabilities, HMI and hardware overall design.
  5. Communicate with customer about technical aspects and support required, before, during and after commissioning of the SCADA/monitoring system

After the project execution:

  1. Provide support for the Customer Satisfaction team in Japan.
  2. Technical Poject management and customer interaction during project execution phase.
  3. Onsite support for hardware related issues and troubleshooting
  4. Detect errors and support the improvement of Quality.
  5. Manage internal communications and project documentation.




  • Engineering degree (Telecommunications, IT, Electrical or Electronics)
  • Experience with industrial communication equipment and protocols (RS485, Ethernet, etc.)
  • Experience in configuration and troubleshooting of local networks
  • Good communication skills, including the ability to write clear and accurate reports
  • Willingness to travel onsite (mainly domestically but also internationally if required) up to 60% of the time
  • Enthusiasm and self-motivation, including a willingness to develop and enjoy taking challenges and responsibilities


  • >1 year on technical support, commissioning or onsite engineering position
  • Working experience in Japan and with Japanese customers.


  • Computing skills
  • High English and Japanese level: read, written and spoken
  • IT programming & network basics


  • Interest on working in a dynamic sector with an international company
  • Knowledge in renewable energies (mainly Solar PV and Wind);
  • Working experience with programming
  • Passionate individual eager to share and build knowledge with a multicultural group of young and talented colleagues.
  • Self-starter who demonstrates the ability to work in global, cross-functional team environment, collaborating with groups of subject matter experts in different geographies and time-zones.
