Local Unit & Position Description

The Oracle Database Administrator will be part of our new DBA team within our Global Delivery Center in Gdynia. The DBA team will consist of 2-3 full time resources and will work in close interaction with the global IT organization. Currently we operate different releases of Oracle databases with Enterprise Edition, both on-premise and in the public cloud. These systems serve as the platform for global ERP system and several other key business applications.


We are seeking a Oracle Database Administrator
for our Oracle Database team based in Gdynia, Poland.


We expect the Database Administrator to take be a solid team player with experience from large multi cloud environments. The key responsibilities will be as follows:      


In your role you will:

  • Installation, setup and operation of database systems on an Enterprise level
  • Installation, setup and operation of Oracle Enterprise Manager
  • Adherence to the GSS IT key service management processes
  • Debugging and resolution of operational issues in a team of engineers based on business SLAs
  • Support and closely cooperate with application engineers, system administrators, storage, backup and network teams
  • Provide onside consulting work regarding technical, operational and procedural requirements directly with the customer
  • Participate in various projects
  • Document your work in standard tools, follow procedures (ITIL) and suggest further improvements

Position Qualifications

To maximize your chances, you need:


We are looking for candidates with 3-5 years of relevant professional Oracle database experience who wants to join our new DBA team. The candidates should have the following experiences and:

  • Bachelor’s degree or similar
  • Basic Knowledge of Linux distributions (e.g. Oracle Linux, RedHat, Suse)
  • Experience with oracle databases (enterprise edition) releases 12.1 – 19+
  • Experience with RAC and ASM
  • Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager 13
  • Experience in scripting and/or automation is a plus
  • A great service-minded attitude
  • Strong interpersonal skills and result orientation
  • Team player and ability to work independently
  • Good communication skills in English, verbal and written
  • Self-motivated, proactive and takes ownership
  • Basic understanding of DevOps concepts
