DNV GL Energy North America is seeking an Analyst with a passion for supporting the future of the clean energy industry with our Energy Insights team – a team of energy market research and evaluation professionals across the country.

The successful candidate will possess strong quantitative research skills with the ability to perform data organization, analysis, and reporting using data visualization platforms for project work in the energy utility industry. Experience with energy efficiency, load growth, and market research are desirable. This position is based out of our Nashville, TN office.

Tasks May Include:

• Working on project-based teams in the delivery of program evaluations, research studies, data management, and other project work related to end-user energy consumption
• Interpret client’s problems to be solved and converted into value-added data-oriented solution opportunities
• Champion and translate data-backed insights to business-actionable narratives and opportunities for further customer insight
• Serve as a conduit between your business colleagues and development team, creating the technical solutions to optimize data value
• Collaborate with other members of the project teams sharing knowledge and ideas in support of innovation and customer satisfaction
• Prepare client deliverables including memos, reports, and presentations
• Interpret the results of data analyses to produce concise, meaningful conclusions and recommendations for client-facing reports by developing dynamic, interactive, and informative dashboards
• Maintain products that deliver data visualizations/reports to enable users to grasp concepts, identify patterns, and make better business decision

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a quantitative field such as engineering, computer science, mathematics, economics, or statistics and minimum of 3 years of experience in statistics, sample design, quantitative analysis, database architecture, data modelling Required
• In Lieu of degree must have minimum 7years of equivalent experience in statistics, sample design, quantitative analysis, database architecture, data modelling Required
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Adobe Suite) Required 
• Experience with statistics/data programming languages (e.g., SAS, R, Python, SQL, Visual Basic, DAX, M, Javascript, etc) required
• Willingness to travel up to 10%
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills; comfortable communicating with team members with different cultural backgrounds and experience.

• Effective time management skills and ability to multi-task and communicate with other team members about priorities

• Strong analytic skills, attention to detail, ability to troubleshoot and problem solve along with the ability to make recommendations based on analysis
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team and have a positive, team-oriented attitude and professional demeanor
• Ability to grasp concepts quickly and reduce them to practice with minimal supervision
• Self-managed, highly motivated, and have a strong drive for results
• Must be a U.S. Citizen per government contract requirements

Preferred

• Experience with geospatial data visualization (e.g., ArcGIS, Quantum GIS, MapInfo, Mapshaper, etc)
• Familiar with energy efficiency, demand side management, and/or demand response programs or savings opportunities
