Local Unit & Position Description

In line with DNV’s position as a trusted voice to tackle global transformations, the DNV Supply Chain and Product Assurance division’s ambition is to shape the future of assurance through innovating, developing and growing assurance services in Digital, Supply Chain, Medical Technology & Healthcare and Offshore Aquaculture.


Operating within this division, the Global Sales & Go to Market team works to engage customers with their transformation agenda, partnering with them on their journey to a more digitalized, greener, safer and circular economy.


Objective of the role:


The Sales Development Manager will orchestrate global sales efforts working closely with the regional teams to engage with customers. Working with a consultative-selling approach addressed at senior level within client organisations, you will work to engage a set of key customers to prospect, generate and close sales opportunities.


Working across the organisation, you will leverage on the existing customer relationships built our key customer managers. You will utilise your strong domain knowledge and your accomplished sales acumen, to manage and inspire the global sales community to continuously look at innovative ways to develop business and enhance our solution offering. Your core area of focus will be across targeted verticals in particular the Food & Beverage, Fast Moving Consumer Goods, Medical Technology & Healthcare and Offshore Aquaculture sectors.

Your tasks may include:

  • Identifying and develop new business opportunities. Playing a direct role in building and maintaining enduring customer relationships, up to C-level.
  • Achieving/exceeding your annual sales targets and plan.
  • Championing a consultative sales approach and inspiring, influencing and motivating our global sales community.
  • Working collaboratively and cross-functionally across the organisation to help shape DNV’s products and solutions to meet customer needs.
  • Driving thought leadership by engaging with key industry influencers.
  • Building and managing co-selling partnerships to drive our sales funnel.
  • Delivering accurate business metrics, monthly and quarterly forecasts and pipeline development reports.

Position Qualifications

Demonstrated track record in the following areas:

  • 5 to 10 years of sales experience in digital, sustainability, supply chain and/or assurance solutions.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Ability to operate in a growth environment, dealing with ambiguity and orchestrating teams in multiple locations.
  • Capacity to understand, articulate and position the value of an assurance-based solution to the customer.
  • Relationship building excellence both externally and internally. Gravitas to build confidence with customers at senior and C-level.
  • Full cycle sales skills from identifying opportunities and building pipeline, to solutioning and closing skills.
  • Passion for sustainability/ESG related topics. Strong interest in digital technologies related to trust, transparency and the digital transformation of supply chains
  • Experience in any of the following industries: Food & Beverage, Fast Moving Consumer Goods or Medical/Healthcare industries.
  • Willingness and ability to travel both locally and internationally.
  • A commitment to DNV’s leadership expectations, including results orientation, customer focus, respect, care, and foresight.

Competency Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or commensurate professional experience required; higher-level education (Master’s) preferred.
  • Global mindset - ability to engage with teams based throughout the world.
  • Passion for topics related to trust, transparency, sustainability and the digital transformation of supply chains.
  • Flexible and service minded. Ability to simplify.
  • High degree of resilience.
  • Innovative and enthusiastic approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills, and fluency in another language.
  • Results oriented. Have a sense of urgency and “can do” attitude.
