Local Unit & Position Description

DNV GL Energy Services USA Inc. group is seeking an Energy Efficiency Inspector to join the Albuquerque, NM team, responsible for implementing utility energy efficiency programs in the PNM service territory. This position is based out of our Albuquerque office.

This position reports to the Head of Section and is mainly responsible for inspecting pre and post job conditions to ensure the proper types, quantities and locations of energy efficient products has been installed. The responsible applicant will create their own inspection schedule and be the face of the program when at a customer site. Additionally, there will be administrative duties such as online application processing, approvals of technical elements of proposals and processing program documents. The candidate will participate in contractor training and field incoming customer and contractor calls.

 

Tasks My Include

  • Take direction from the Direct Install Administrator and the Head of Section for workload tasks
  • Review and verify technical merits of energy efficiency applications from the business sector, including calculation of energy savings and verification of equipment specifications
  • Conduct customer site inspections to verify existing conditions, both before and after, and the installation of energy efficient equipment
  • Have the ability to recognize, identify and catalog lighting types is critical
  • Conduct database queries and program data analysis to ensure application accuracy
  • Produce high quality and accurate inspection reports that capture on-site conditions
  • Interact in a professional manner with applicants and Trade Allies alike to address questions or concerns about installed equipment or programmatic information
  • Educate contractors and customers about the program
  • Provide inspection support to other team members programs on an as-needed basis
  • Allocate time and resources according to the workload
  • Plan, organize, and complete tasks within important time frames
  • Ensures a consistent workflow despite interruptions
  • Effectively manage multiple projects and consistently approach workload in a proactive fashion

Position Qualifications

Requirements

  • High school diploma required. Associate degree preferred.
  • 2 years of energy experience and/or an educational emphasis on energy experience is required; specifically, an intimate knowledge of lighting products, their uses and applications is essential

  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications such as Word and Excel are required
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills for customer communication and interaction. Must be able to present in front of potential future Trade Allies
  • Must be comfortable with on-site inspections in a variety of environments including commercial, industrial and institutional
  • Creativity encouraged; attention to detail required
  • Must be comfortable with on-site inspections in a variety of environments including commercial, industrial and institutional
  • Positive and team-oriented attitude to match our friendly work environment 
  • Reliable transportation is required
  • Must be able to meet the requirements to drive for company business
  • Must have valid driver’s license and own a fully insured vehicle; mileage will be reimbursed
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 75% of the time within the PNM service territory in New Mexico
  • No relocation assistance available for this position
