Maritime Advisory North Europe employs 175 engineers and consultants who support customers in the maritime industry globally in their efforts to make the right decisions and  to achieve profitable and sustainable results. We have the capabilities, experience and track record to deliver high-value solutions, mobilizing the full potential of customers’ assets and operations.


We put technical matters and business decisions into context to achieve the optimal solution – providing our customers the basis to make good decisions, and act to achieve sustainable results.


The unit consists of 3 departments: Performance Advisory, Technical Advisory and Safety Advisory; each with 4-5 sections organised based on fields of expertise and location. Collaboration across the unit and across business areas within DNVGL adds value to our customers in an increasingly complex business environment; with digitalization, decarbonisation and sustainability as key drivers. 


Business Development Leader (BDL) is a key person in Maritime Advisory to drive business development and sales. The Business Development Leader is a member of the regional Maritime Advisory leadership team and reports to the Regional Head of Maritime Advisory and is responsible for running business development initiatives across the unit.

Position Qualifications

  • Sc. or MBA or equivalent degree
  • Understanding and proven track record for management of the entire customer process; from leads generation, through opportunity development, pre-sales, sales and delivery
  • Market-oriented with good knowledge of the maritime market, including current trends on digitalization and decarbonization, and their impact on maritime stakeholders
  • Experience from digital marketing and sales processes
  • Commercial and business-oriented mindset
