DNV GL - Digital Solutions is seeking a candidate for a Software Project Manager (Delivery and Recurring Revenue Engagements) for managing consulting services projects. Collaborating closely with project teams, the Project Manager (PM) will plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. These will be software implementation projects (On Prem, SaaS / Recurring Revenue, Solution Support) for new or existing customers and may cover all DNV GL product-based solutions but primarily our Asset Integrity products and solutions such as Synergi Pipeline (SP).

 

The successful applicant(s) will have skills and references that demonstrate a career of leading the successful delivery of high value, high risk, software implementation projects. They will have excellent communication skills and will demonstrate a clear and convincing understanding of project management principles.  This position is located at our office in Mechanicsburg, PA or Katy, TX.

 

The Project Manager will report to the Head of Section for Project Management Consulting Americas with the main objective of being the responsible for the entire project and customer engagement cycle right from RFP/Bid Review/Proposal Management, Project planning, execution and deployment, Extended Solution Support to Operational Management post Go-live. The specific focus for this position will be management of software implementation projects primarily related to DNV GL’s Synergi Pipeline product platform for transmission and distribution integrity solutions. The ideal candidate will be the one with extensive practical experience of having delivered both large (>~1m USD) and small size (~ $10K to $200K) implementation projects involving Software Solutions and preferable in the Asset Integrity space. A strong knowledge of demonstrative Project Management Concepts and Principles is a must. The candidate would also be responsible for being the primary liaison with our customers solution sponsor for on-going commercial, operational, scope and relationship management of our SaaS (Cloud) software solutions.

 

Tasks May Include

  • Managing project scope, goals, and deliverables; ensure that the Customers’ needs, and requirements are adhered to and that the overall implementation project is completed in a timely manner
  • Developing work plans, project estimates and resource plans; provide status reports to project sponsors and other key project and customer personnel
  • Develop and maintain project schedules using Microsoft Project.
  • Prepare and supervise project team members and their tasks, prepare project budgets, and analyze data, direct and control the execution outcome of multiple software implementation projects
  • Successful Execution of multiple software implementation projects (large and small size) concurrently
  • Successful Risk Management and Execution of all software implementation projects (of various types and sizes) within the agreed boundaries of scope, time and cost resulting in a high degree of customer satisfaction whilst achieving the agreed internal project profitability.
  • Manage, and appropriately escalate, delivery impediments, risks, and issues, including reaching out to the Senior Management for impediment removal.
  • Effectively negotiate changes to project scope and change orders including opportunities for new sales. Propose configuration changes, training, and other knowledge improvement actions
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Effectively track and manage project costs budgets/revenue and scope according to SOW’s and produce memos and invoices as directed in SOW/Contract.
  • Conduct project meetings and be responsible for all project tracking and analysis. Ensure adherence to quality standards and review project deliverables. Recommend and take action to direct the analysis and solutions to identified problems.
  • Coordinate with sales team from pre-sales through project completion
  • Conduct project post-mortems and create a recommendations report to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Working Collaboratively with the Sales and other project teams and lead the Proposal Management and delivery activities (SOW) during the Pre-sales stages of a software implementation project opportunity.  
    • Drive proposal effort for Consulting’s technical response. Work with the technical team and come-up with detailed pre-sales proposals; participate in pre-sales product demonstrations and take ownership for delivery of the technical and commercial documents required for successful submission of a bid/RFP response.
  • Manage the customer relationship and financial aspect of operational support for SaaS (Cloud) projects. Ensure that the customers’ needs, and requirements are adhered to per the agreed contract. Identify expansion opportunities for existing customer solutions.
  • Collaborate with DNV GL’s Product Development and Oil and Gas Advisory team throughout the pre-sales/software implementation cycles and be responsible or the successful project delivery to the end customers satisfaction.
  • Liaise with DNV GL’s solution operations department to ensure that the most cost-efficient SaaS operating platform environment is delivered to the customer. Develop and grow relationships with key stakeholders and actively collaborate and share customer intelligence and opportunities.

Position Qualifications

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
    • Concentration in Computer Science, IT or other related technical streams preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in core project management role for software development or software implementation projects (working on multiple simultaneous opportunities).
  • Individual Contributor with ability to manage the full life cycle of a software implementation project right from presales through project completion and into operations (post completion).
  • Ability to manage scope change and keen eye for expanding opportunities with existing customers.
  • Proven track record for project planning, delivery, control, and completion of software implementation projects.
  • Effective Risk Management Skills with an ability to come-up with efficient mitigation strategies to deliver the assigned project with the given constraints of scope, time cost and quality.
  • Minimum of 8 years of monitoring and control of all financial (costs/budgets/profitability) aspects of software implementation projects (both Fixed Price and T&M projects).
  • Proficiency (Expert Level) with Microsoft Project required.
  • Demonstration and application of Project Management theories as those prescribed by the Project Management Institute (PMI).
  • Experience managing or delivering Cloud-based IT solutions and SaaS Implementation Projects (with a recurring revenue generation model) preferably with the Microsoft Azure platform.
  • Strong customer communication skills: Demonstrated ability to build and maintain excellent relationships with Customers.
  • Effective communication, particularly listening skills with both colleagues as well as customers.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel within the region and internationally up to 15%.

Preferred Skills

  • PMP Certification (Active).
  • Experience with DNV GL software solutions and products (primarily our Asset Integrity products and solutions such as Synergi Pipeline (SP)).
  • Experience implementing Cloud-based solutions, preferably with the Microsoft Azure platform.
  • Experience in project management and delivery of Asset Integrity software implementation projects within the pipeline industry would be an advantage.
    • Experience in implementation of software projects related to pipeline hydraulic simulations or pipeline risk models (TIMP, DIMP, PRA etc.)
  • Knowledge of Esri’s Software.
  • Experience with standard DBMS (Database Management Systems) such as Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Knowledge of PowerBI integrations or other business intelligence reporting and dashboarding tools.
