Local Unit & Position Description

DNV is seeking a highly motivated Engineer - Energy Production and Analytics with expertise in data analysis and software development to join our team in Germany. The position is preferably a full-time position that reports to the Head of Section, Project Development & Analytics (PDA) Northern Europe and will be based in our office in either Hamburg or Oldenburg.

 

The candidate will support the local team and cooperate in a wider international team in the Project Development & Analytics Service Area. The tasks will involve working on wind resource assessment and energy assessment projects plus developing related software and related business development activities.

 

The job responsibilities will include:

 

  • Analysis of wind data and operational wind farm data
  • Deriving long-term wind and energy production forecasts 
  • Site and customer visits and participating in stakeholder discussions
  • Participating in the improvement of DNV methods and tools as well as the transformation to digital service offerings
  • Identifying new opportunities and developing these into projects for DNV's customers
  • Managing and contributing to service delivery involving multi-disciplinary project teams
  • Working with Customers, delivering proposals

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in an engineering or scientific field or equivalent qualification
  • Good IT skills and experience with Visual Basic for Microsoft XLS, ideally combined with programming competency, preferably in Python. Experience in software development, knowledge of SQL and C# or C++ would be a strong advantage
  • Ability to work independently and within multicultural project teams
  • Fluent command of English and German in writing and in speech, including the ability to write concise reports in both languages
  • Knowledge of additional languages, especially Scandinavian or any CEE country language will be beneficial
  • Experience with renewable energy, especially wind energy, is an advantage
