Carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) is critical to meeting the climate goals of companies and countries alike yet, today only one tenth of a percent of CO2 emissions are captured by CCUS. That being said, Would you like to be part of a growing team of experts helping companies and governments in accelerating the development and implementation of CCUS projects globally? DNV- Energy Systems is looking for a Head of Business Development: Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage/Sequestration (CCUS) to join the team. The Head of Business Development will be assisting our customers with Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage/Sequestration (CCUS) which  is a core element of the DNV vision to accelerate action on climate change. To focus our efforts on solutions that maximize value to our customers, Energy Systems is launching a CCUS Market Venture and is now looking for an executive to lead business development for this venture. 

 

This position may be remote or located in any of our Canadian offices (Calgary, Montreal, or Toronto) or European offices, e.g., Arnhem, Netherlands, Hovik, Norway, Bristol, UK, Hamburg, Germany.

 

Tasks May Include

  • Leading sales and partnerships for the CCUS Venture,while contributing to the team as a consultant on CCUS client projects.
  • Building and developing the business development skills and activities of the CCUS team. Coaching team members to set and meet targets, define and complete activities tied to targets
  • Fostering a relevant internal and external network
  • Identifying and nurturing customer relationships, discovering needs, quantifying how DNV can add value, generating sales and providing advisory services as an individual contributor
  • Working with regional teams in a matrix relatioship to ensure sales follow-up and service development
  • Owning positioning in market and external relations in collaboration with Marketing, Communication & Public Affairs
  • Developing knowledge of competitors and DNV’s relative strengths and weaknesses, including win/loss analyses for all closed deals.
  • Monitoring, managing and reporting on the sales funnel.

Position Qualifications

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Significant experience in sales/business development in lieu of education
  • Strong domain knowledge and consulting experience in CCUS or a related field
  • Dedicated sales mindset
  • Behavioural flexibility to build customer relationships, adapt easily, coach and influence
  • Persuasive and persistent
  • A skilled sales coach for CCUS team
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
