Local Unit & Position Description

The services of the Electrical, Process & Safety Section is part of the international Facilities, Equipment and Components Department and covers Design Review, Quality Assurance and Consulting for offshore platforms for the O&G and offshore wind industry, as well as onshore plants, terminals and refineries. These assets typically require effective and reliable active and passive fire protection systems, ventilation and complex automation and safety systems.


The projects in this area offer a great variety of tasks and technical challenges, providing broad professional opportunities for an open minded and flexible engineer, who enjoys multi-discipline technical work both inside and outside the office. 


  • Technical expert advisory services for fire & gas protection systems, active fire control, escape & evacuation concepts and lifesaving appliances
  • Inspections of manufacturing and site surveys (onshore/offshore)
  • Proposal preparation and interfacing with clients
  • Determination of the project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements; assign personnel to phases and elements; review bids from contractors
  • Maintenance of project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordination activities
  • Controlling of project costs
  • Preparation of project status reports
  • Coordination with colleagues to create more efficient workflow of projects
  • Design, drawing and calculation approvals
  • Risk assessment and participation in safety studies such as HAZID or HAZOP
  • Witness acceptance/functional tests

Position Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in engineering management with a focus on naval, civil or mechanical engineering
  • Knowledge of applicable local and international codes and standards in this field (fire protection)
  • Relevant professional experience (industrial fire protection) is beneficial
  • Project management skills are beneficial
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, active team player, ability to work independently
  • Analytical thinking, attentive to details, efficiently working under time pressure
  • Positive and self-motivated attitude, proactive customer focus including ability to present and sell our services to the client
  • Fluent German (at least C2 level) and good command of English language required, additional foreign languages are of great advantage
  • Flexibility for occasional business travel, both domestically and abroad
