Key Purpose of the role


To be part of the Measurement team that is actively involved in validation of simulation models through activities that include Measurement equipment installations / operations / maintenance / data analysis, interpretation and reporting (for power performance and load measurements)/hardware assembly/maintenance and workshop activities. The individual would also support business development and other administration requirements pertaining to Measurements.



Main Responsibilities


Working closely with the Head of Section –Measurements, the Measurements Engineer will be focussing on growing this service within India. The individual will be responsible for providing services for “Type Measurements”, including Structural Load Measurements, Component testing, Power Performance Measurements, Electrical Characteristics Measurements and Acoustic Measurements, for wind turbine manufacturers and operators.



Key responsibilities are as follows: 

  • Project management in the areas of measurements which include management of Customer as well as internal team
  • Co-ordinate the execution of mandates/project with the Service line Leaders
  • Manage the local workshop including handling of measurement equipment
  • You will be involved in checking the work of others to ensure that it complies with our best practice techniques.
  • To maintain quality of work and check and approve the reports
  • To prioritize and respond dynamically to a changing environment
  • To maintain an environment oriented to trust and help develop team members
  • Participate in R&D projects as and when required.
  • Any other duties as directed by line management.

Position Qualifications

Essential skills and experience for this role are as follows 

  • B.Tech/M.Tech in Mechanical engineering from a reputed institute
  • 5- 8 years of work experience in relevant industry (wind)
  • Hands on experience in strain gauge bonding, data acquisition system e.g. IMC cronos
  • Hands on experience with mechanical load measurement, evaluation and uncertainties calculations, Rain flow counting and Load spectra
  • Experience and knowledge of IEC 61400-13 and design load cases for Wind Turbines
  • Knowledge of Test of Turbine Behavior and Safety and Functional Test of Wind Turbine
  • Experience in working with MATLAB/IMC FAMOS
  • Strong influencing skills in a global environment and be able to coordinate with different offices across globe.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to work in a fast-paced consultancy environment
  • Ability and willingness to develop and expand business
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral
  • Willingness to travel (domestic and international)
