Key Purpose of the role


The primary focus of this role is to undertake technical analysis of operating wind farms. This will involve conducting a detailed energy production assessment, performance diagnostics, root cause analysis and finding solutions for performance enhancement.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Undertake energy production assessments which include – site visits, operational data processing and quality checking, correlation analysis, review of energy losses, statistical analysis and produce a report.
  • Undertake site conditions assessments which include elements of the above but also a review of extreme wind speed, ambient and wake induced turbulence intensity, wind shear and temperature range.
  • The assessment of power curve and other parameters such as nacelle wind speed, blade pitch, rotor speed, generator speed etc
  • All of the above work will be undertaken following Energy Group best practice analytical techniques.
  • You will be involved in checking the work of others to ensure that it complies with best practice techniques.
  • You should have good interpersonal skills to work with the wider AO&M team in APAC and Europe.
  • Liaise with a wide range of clients from wind farm developers to financial institutions
  • Liaise with industry suppliers, manage bidding processes and provide critical bid assessment
  • Work on multiple projects, managing own time to meet deadlines
  • Manage the complete project lifecycle
  1. Produce tender proposals (including technical and financial aspects),
  2. Manage the project work to ensure delivery of the scope on time and budget
  3. Close out the work, ensuring the client is satisfied with the work and has been appropriately invoiced.
  • Provide technical advice directly to clients
  • Support the continuous improvement of the AO&M methodology and documentation
  • Participate in R&D projects as and when required.
  • Any other duties as directed by line management.  

Key Internal & External Contacts:

  • Department managers and other members of the team (regular basis) will assist with training, skills and knowledge which will be developed through working on projects.
  • Manager: reporting, decision-making and issue escalation.
  • Clients and stakeholders for projects – geographically spread within the market.       Regular contact through email and telephone exchanges will be required with occasional meetings and site visits.
  • External organisations/professionals – review of methodologies and discussion of best practice approaches where appropriate.
  • Capable of working as part of an integrated APAC team
  • Health and Safety training

Position Qualifications

Essential knowledge, skills and experience

  • A minimum of Bachelor’s degree in engineering or physics or atmospheric science or mathematics field or equivalent demonstrating high academic performance, from accredited institutions.
  • More than 5 years of significant practical relevant experience; for very bright candidate, the quantum of experience could be relaxed.
  • Aptitude for statistical analysis of data.
  • Ability to write and compose clear and accurate reports in English.
  • Good organisational and effective time management skills as you will be required to handle multiple projects.
  • Ability to work in a pressurised consultancy environment – operating to tight timescales.
  • Willingness to work on site.
  • Excellent observation skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
  • Adaptability, and able to cope with a wide variety of tasks.
  • Good IT skills, and experience using MS Office suite packages and AutoCAD or Microstation


  • Exposure and familiarity with wind energy industry software and measurement techniques.
  • Fluency in local languages.
