Local Unit & Position Description

DNV GL – Maritime Region Americas is seeking a Senior Surveyor to join our Miami Cruise Center. The Miami Cruise Center and Station are responsible for fleet in service operations as well as customer responsibilities for cruise clients. As a Senior Surveyor in the Miami station you will be member of a highly qualified team of surveyors and auditors serving both cruise and the more traditional segments calling at ports in the Caribbean.

As a fleet in service surveyor your primary focus will be to conduct surveys and audits onboard passenger ships in Miami and other Caribbean ports. Travel to other ports within the region may be required.

 

This position will also be responsible for the role of Technical Support Manager(TSM) for our cruise clients. As a TSM, you will be responsible for enhanced technical support beyond regular surveys and audits towards our customers and surveyors. You need to be driven by solution oriented attitude and have a good understanding of customers’ needs.

This position is based out of our Sunrise, FL office.

 

Tasks May Include

  • Surveys and audits for vessels serviced in US and Caribbean Islands
  • Coordinate and training programs and quarterly technical meeting with clients
  • Technical support to local key clients and DNV GL Key Account Managers

Position Qualifications

 

  • Naval Architect, Marine Engineer, experienced Chief Engineer
  • Minimum 5 years of class and statutory survey experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working with the cruise industry
  • Qualification as an auditor for Management Systems (ISO 9001, 14001, 50001 etc.) ISM, ISPS & MLC inspector
  • Team player but able to work independently on surveys & audits.
  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally 65% of time
  • Physical abilities necessary to perform regular functions of the job (standing, lifting, climbing, other): climbing pilot ladders & tanks, flying, flying in helicopter, crew boat launches, voyage surveys.
  • We conduct pre-employment background check and drug screen
