Local Unit & Position Description

DNV GL - Energy's Sustainable Energy Use is seeking a Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Analyst to join our Program Development and Implementation (PDI) team. The successful candidate will have a creative, innovative approach to his or her work and will never shy away from offering frank observations and recommendations. We are looking for a highly organized, methodical professional with the experience necessary to take our products to the next level in terms of safety, security and accuracy. This position is based out of our Oakland, CA or Chalfont, PA office.

 

Tasks May Include

 

  • Create and update test plans, detailed test cases and complex test scenarios, ensuring functional coverage and application performance
  • Guide the adoption of industry standard SDLC QA processes to test changes, enhancements and maintain the quality and integrity of applications
  • Be responsible for testing and delivery of products, including writing the test plans and test cases
  • Produce automated tests and improve continuous integration processes
  • Provide timely feedback on feature functionality, validity and product defects
  • Participate in troubleshooting system issues and data problems
  • Document and rank defects in agile project management software so they can be addressed by development teams.
  • Work with product owners and Business Analysts to provide expertise in understanding what to test, as well as how it should be tested

Position Qualifications

Position Qualifications

  • BS degree in a related field required 
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant software QA experience 
  • Broad understanding of quality engineering principles and test methodologies
  • Experience of Agile methodologies
  • Expertise in database testing in Microsoft SQL Server environments including designing and manipulating test data, validating stored procs, jobs, and triggers.
  • Web (Html, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Desktop .Net (C#, Asp.Net MVC)
  • Experience using SoapUI for API testing
  • Willingness and ability to travel, up to 10% of the time
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills

Preferred Skills (Not Required):

 

  • Bachelor’s in Software Engineering 
  • Exposure to mobile – native iOS, Xamarin using Appium or similar technologies
  • Energy industry experience or knowledge
  • ISO 27001/9001
  • Experience with DotNetNuke desirable but not a must
  • Experience implementing or maintaining CI/Build environments and deployment processes
